Located in the University District of Northern Seattle, The Alliance Française de Seattle is one of America's 140 chapters of the Alliance Française, the largest network of French language and cultural centers in the world. We offer a broad array of engaging French language programs in Seattle and the Puget Sound area of Washington State. Our programs are for people of all ages with any level of French language proficiency, and are based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages Educational Standards (CEF).


Location and Facilities:

 

The Alliance Française de Seattle is located on the ground floor of Historic Seattle's beautiful Good Shepherd Center, midway between the main transit routes of I-5 and Route 99. We are surrounded by beautiful grounds that include the lovely organic gardens of Seattle Tilth. There are two large free parking lots as well as abundant free on-street parking.

The Washington Academy of Languages in Seattle, is a language school offering day and evening classes to students of all levels and abilities. Our German classes emphasize modern spoken German. From the first class meeting, students and instructors alike speak as much German as possible. Grammar is studied not as an exclusively abstract system, but as a reference base for active language use.

The majority of classroom time is used speaking German, as opposed to talking about German in English. Culture is also an integral component of all our language courses and is presented through role play and activities while students are learning the language in communicative situations.

Dante Alighieri Society of Washington

In 1984, the Italian Language Program was successfully initiated in Seattle under the directorship of the local chapter of the Dante Alighieri Society. Since that year, the Italian Language Program of the Dante Alighieri Society of Washington has grown as the ideal place to learn Italian Language and Culture in Seattle. Our classes are held on the campus of Seattle University. However, the Dante Alighieri Society - Italian Language Program is a self-sustaining autonomous program independent of Seattle University.
Fall, Winter, and Spring quarter, four levels of Italian: introductory conversation, elementary, intermediate, and advanced. Each course begins in October and lasts thirty weeks (three quarters) except the introductory conversation course which is 10 weeks long and repeats. Classes meet twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.

Located in the center of Seattle, Washington, Seattle Learning Academy offers ESL programs with a difference. Communication is essential, and SLA students often find themselves speaking more during meetings, writing more emails, understanding more in the media, becoming more confident on the telephone, and connecting more with their communities.
