Art on the Farm - International teen summer art programme Cow House Studios is proud to offer the only international teen summer art programme in Ireland. We present an exciting opportunity to the adventurous, self-motivated student seeking a rewarding experience focused on the visual arts.
During this multidisciplinary three-week course, young artists benefit from an environment dedicated to fostering professional arts practice in a country long celebrated for its artistic inspiration. Participants are challenged to experiment beyond their creative boundaries, consider possibilities offered by their teachers and peers, and use their medium to relate their ideas to content. Using a range of materials and skills, participants develop their existing abilities and acquire new drawing, painting and photography skills. During Art on the Farm, students complete excellent portfolio pieces for advanced placement and college applications.
Curriculum: At the core of our curriculum is drawing. Each day begins with a lesson exploring the themes of light, space, colour and movement, which may then be applied to any creative process. During the first few days of the three-week programme, students participate in collaborative projects based on the work of specific artists. This enables the group to get to know each other while introducing them to important contemporary art. Weeks One and Two involve intensive classes in painting, drawing and photography , as well as projects directed by themes relating to Ireland. In the third week, everyone works on their own final project using their medium/s of preference.

We work with them and introduce them to different drawing and colouring techniques and we guide them to choose their own compositions. We don't enforce our views but allow them to take on board the techniques as it suits them.
