In an era when road safety is such a major issue, Horizon is delighted to announce its new Motor Sports programme.
The idea of Motor Sports is to teach teenagers how to drive safely, so that they learn to respect the vehicle they are using and also to respect other road users, but it's all done in a controlled, off-road environment, so there is no danger. This is one of the most exciting programmes I have ever been involved with and I believe it can really help teenagers.

Practical and theory tests are set to ensure campers know their stuff, and there is also a course where they can try their skills on specially-designed tracks

They will make new friends and throw themselves into our wonderful array of activities.

Horizon Ireland School Tours:

In our schools programmes, we undertake to balance fun and adventure with solid learning outcomes. In the new, residential environment, young people are more open to learning. Significant results can be achieved with guests who might find it difficult to embrace the classroom scenario.

Schools Active Adventure Programme - Educational Activity:
Our Active Adventure programme is a physical programme of adventure activities. It has been designed specifically to promote healthy exercise, while also introducing young people to the benefits of co-ordination and teamwork.

Through this fun-filled activity programme, our instructors subtly draw out the 'best' in each and every pupil - the guests are encouraged to try their hand at challenges they might never before have dreamed of tackling.

Personal Development and Adventure - Transition Year:
A basic truth of high-quality outdoor education is that it paves the way for 'learning outcomes' that simply cannot be achieved within the confines of the classroom. In the new, residential environment, young people are more open to learning. Significant results can be achieved with guests who might find it difficult to embrace the classroom scenario.

Stronger relationships can develop within the group, and through their shared experiences at our Westport Centre, they break down barriers that might have previously existed. Through a process of Task, Review and Reflect - combined with Action, Fun, and Adventure - our Transition Year, Personal Development and Adventure programme is a hugely significant module in the 'gap year' curriculum.
