ESL II (Level 3, Level 4):
- 4 month program, 18 hours per week, Monday to Friday
This course is designed to improve fluency and free talking skills, based on the proper use of grammar. It introduces mistakes that E.S.L students often make so that they can develop their critical reading, writing and communication skills. The focus is on developing a language sense, a feeling for words that carries over into their daily use of English. As a result, student can say what they want to say and have it stay with them outside the classroom. Upon successful completion of this level, students will be able to use writing and reading skills for academic purposes. The students will also be able to write essays in the American style.
ESL III (Level 5, Level 6):
- 4 month program, 18 hours per week, Monday to Friday
This course emphasizes interaction as a vital step in language acquisition. It motivates students to use the proper structures as they exchange real information about themselves and other topics. This course also uses movies to help students develop clarity of speech. Contemporary movies are used to teach colloquial speech in corresponding situations. Upon successful completion of this level, students will be able to conduct research and site information freely, read technical materials, give group presentations, write summary critiques, participate in debate and critical thinking skills.
American Culture Program (Level 7):
- 4 month program, 18 hours per week, Monday to Friday
This class is designed to help understand why Americans do what they do in conjunction with language acquisition. The students will learn cultural nuances, taboos, and gestures that are very important for social survival in the U.S.
Current Global Affairs Program (Level 8):
- 4 month program, 18 hours per week, Monday to Friday
In this advanced conversation class, students analyze current global affairs through political, economic, and artistic lenses.
