Wilshire Language School in Koreatown, 3 miles west of Downtown Los Angeles, provides morning and evening English classes for beginner to advanced levels. Our students include international students who want to further their education in the U.S., and local students already living in the Los Angeles area who want to improve their English language skills. We also offer an American Culture program for social survival in California, and Current Global Affairs advanced conversation classes. All of our programs are 18 hours a week from Monday through Friday for 4 months, and are suitable for students preparing for upper level college and University study, for personal and career development, or for a smooth adjustment to life in the United States.

Why Study With Us?

Students who successfully complete our programs will be academically ready to take college courses. To accomplish this, all of our classes concentrate on building toward college level work. Upon completion of our programs, students are competent at giving group and individual presentations, conducting research and writing research papers, writing and documenting composition papers, taking notes effectively, reading for comprehension without difficulty.

English Language & Culture Lessons (mornings & evenings):
ESL I; ESL II; ESL III; American Culture; Current Global Affairs.
All programs are 18 hours a week, Monday through Friday for 4 months.

Student Testing:
Each student will be tested on his or her first class day to determine the student's level. The placement test will cover listening, reading, language use, speaking and writing. The test is only used to determine a student's level in the E.S.L program. Standardized tests or additional measurements may be used.
