Our main aim here at AClass Academy of English is to ensure that you receive the highest standard of English lessons possible in a friendly, family-like environment. However, we don't just want you to learn and practise English at school; we want to help you develop the confidence and skills to think and use English so that it becomes part of your daily life. Apart from developing their own materials for class, teachers also make use of a wide selection of course books and other teaching resources (online lessons from reputable sources such as the BBC, local and foreign newspapers and articles) to supplement their lessons. These are continually updated to provide our English teachers and you with the latest materials. English students are monitored to ensure that they move up a level when they are ready for it. Teachers are encouraged to attend training and refresher courses to develop their English teaching and keep up with the latest trends in EFL.

- Summer Package - Adult (18+) -

Spend an unforgettable summer with AClass, choose our Summer Package for adults (18+).

You may choose to stay in one of our host families or if you would like more independence, you may also choose to stay in our student residence.

This package includes 2 weeks of General English lessons, accommdation on a Bed & Breakfast basis in shared room (host family) or shared room (residence) and our exclusive Summer Activity Pack "Discovering the Islands".

Arrival airport transfer is also included in this package.

- General English -
This course follows the guidelines set out by the Common European Framework and is designed to give you a solid introduction to the English language. It devotes special attention to communicating in English so that you can use what you learn in the classroom the moment you step out the door.

There is clear focus on grammar and vocabulary with plenty of colloquial language, idioms and high frequency phrases. There is plenty of speaking and using English to communicate in real life situations. This includes work on pronunciation and use of idioms and colloquial expressions which are integrated into our topic-based lessons.

AClass teachers will make sure you practise the four skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking. This is done in a supportive environment using conventional texts and audio equipment, role-play, problem solving, discussions and collaborative tasks. This will help you develop confidence and language structures in a meaningful and supportive environment with your classmates. All course materials are provided. 20 lessons at 45 minutes per lesson

- General Intensive English -
Improve your English with General Intensive English

This includes all of the standard General English course with a further two lessons of English per day. AClass’ General Intensive English shifts its focus to developing English Language fluency and accuracy in the last two lessons of the day. This helps speed up the learning process which means you can see results much faster. All course materials are provided.

Teenage Courses
- Teen General English -
This course is designed with a clear focus on grammar, vocabulary, colloquial language, idioms and high-frequency phrases. These language points are all integrated into our topic based lessons where there is plenty of speaking and using English to communicate in real-life situations.

The class will also work on a mini project using the internet to research information. They will be provided with materials to collaborate with other students in English and produce a short presentation or project in English on popular culture, sport, music, information technology or a topic of their choice or interest. This is negotiated at the beginning of the course.

This is done in a supportive environment using conventional texts and audio equipment, role-play, problem solving, discussions and collaborative tasks. This will help you develop confidence and language structures in a meaningful and supportive environment with your classmates. 20 lessons of Teen General English at 45 minutes per lesson

- Teen General Intensive English -
This course includes all of the things covered in the Teen General English course with a further two lessons of English per day. AClass' General Intensive English shifts its focus to language fluency and accuracy in the last two lessons of the day. Students will find that they see results much faster as a result of this course. 30 lessons of Teen General English at 45 minutes per lesson

NB These English language courses follow the guidelines set out by the Common European Framework and are designed to give you a solid introduction to the English language. They devote special attention to communicating in English so that you can use what you learn in the classroom the moment you step out the door. Teenage courses place an emphasis on collaborative tasks and project work.

English ESP-Business English
These Business English courses are designed to give students the skills in English to communicate effectively in the business world. They will help give you a competitive advantage by increasing your knowledge and confidence when using English in the workplace. These courses are for professionals or business students who need to use English in a corporate environment. AClass Business English teachers come from a variety of backgrounds with experience in different areas of business so they can design lessons around your needs.

- Business English Combination -
Business English Combination gives you 30 lessons in total with 20 General English classes and 10 or 20 lessons focussing on Business English. This is ideal if you need to improve your English for presentations, conference calls, writing brief reports and e-mails or dealing with foreign clients. There are a maximum of 8 students in our Business classes and all course materials are provided.

- Business English One-to-One -
Business English One-to-One can be booked for 20 or 30 lessons at 45 minutes per lesson. This course is ideal for people who are pressed for time and have very specific needs they wish to focus on. Your experienced AClass teacher will tailor the course to your personal requirements. All course materials are provided.

English ESP-Medical English
These Medical English courses are designed for students wishing to learn specific language functions, vocabulary and grammar related to the fields of Medicine. They are highly structured and intensive to meet doctors and medical students’ specific needs. Doctors often need to rely on English to communicate. These courses can help nurses, doctors, pharmacists, paramedics, receptionists, specialists or even those who volunteer. By studying and practising Medical English, you will be able to make your patients feel more comfortable and have a better understanding of their needs. You will also learn how to talk to their loved ones and communicate with other medical staff who speak English.

- Medical English Combination -
Medical English Combination gives you 20 lessons of General English and 10 or 20 lessons of Medical English. Learn how to use English to communicate clearly with your patients and other doctors. Lessons are created from a variety of materials including specialised course books, medical journals and texts. 20 lessons of General English and 10 or 20 lessons of Medical English.

- Medical English One-to-One -
This course is ideal for people who are pressed for time, want a hightly specific focus to their course or just prefer the individual attention you get with a private teacher. 10, 20 or 30 lessons of Medical English at 45 minutes per lesson

English ESP-Aviation English
The International Civil Aviation Organisation has decided that all airline and helicopter pilots who fly internationally, and all air traffic controllers who provide services to international flights must have a minimum level of English. These Aviation English language courses are designed to help meet those needs and help students work towards or attain level 4, considered the minimum acceptable level (Operational Level) by ICAO.

- Aviation English Combination -
Aviation English Combination includes 20 lessons of General English and 10 or 20 lessons of Aviation English per week. This course is ideal for those wishing to improve their English and Aviation English. Aviation English classes are small with a maximum of 8 students per class. All course material is provided. There is a lot of focus given to listening and speaking. This course is based on the guidelines given by ICAO for level 4.When booking this course make sure you choose between 10 or 20 lessons of Aviation English per week. 20 lessons of General English and 10 or 20 lessons per week

- Aviation English One-to-One -
Choose between 10, 20 or 30 lessons of Aviation English at 45 minutes a lesson. This course gives you the chance to work with your private teacher intensively. The course content is up to you. You will decide on the subjects or areas of Aviation English you want to cover with guidance from your teacher. Specific goals will be discussed and developed. This course is ideal for people who want results fast. 10, 20 or 30 lessons at 45 minutes a lesson

English ESP-Other
English for Specific Purposes (ESP) combines different subjects and English language teaching. Such a combination is highly motivating because you are able to apply what you learn in your English classes to your main field of study, whether it be business management, computer science or tourism. Being able to use the vocabulary and structures that you learn in a meaningful context reinforces what is taught and increases your motivation.

- English ESP One-to-One -
This is the most specialised and personal course we offer. Just you and your teacher. English can be combined with Tourism and Hospitality; Law; Banking and Finance; Psychology; Maltese Cookery; History and Culture and many more. If there is a subject that is not listed here contact us and we will do our best to arrange a course for you. - English ESP Combination -
This is one the most specialised courses we offer. English ESP Combination offers General English combined with subjects such as Tourism and Hospitality; Law; Banking and Finance; Psychology; Maltese Cookery; History and Culture and many more. If there is a subject that is not listed here contact us and we will do our best to arrange a course for you. This course combines a General English course with specialised lessons in the afternoon. - English ESP Closed Group -
This is for a group of minimum 5 students who want to study a specialised area. The course is ideal for groups of professionals or friends who want to learn English for a specific purpose. Contact us directly for this option.

Exam Classes Cambridge

AClass English language school offers preparation courses for some of the best English Language exams available.These exams are recognized by employers worldwide and can help you gain entry into universities, colleges and other institutions of higher learning. - Cambridge Business Examination Certificate (BEC) Preparation Courses -
Study towards the Business English Certificate (BEC) exam with 30 lessons a week at AClass. Leave with a certificate that shows you have learnt English to an appropriate standard and can use it in a business context. The BEC certificates are internationally recognised qualifications that show employers your skills for using English in the workplace. The BEC Exam Preparation Course is ideal if you are preparing for a career in business.

There are three different levels of BEC: Preliminary, Vantage and Higher. You will be tested during your first week at school to see which level is best for you. A good knowledge of English is needed now more than ever to succeed in international business and commerce. If you can show you have relevant language skills, you’ll have a great advantage in the jobs market and much greater flexibility if you want to work abroad. 30 lessons a week at 45 minutes per lesson

- Cambridge PET, FCE, CAE, CPE Exam Preparation Courses -
Cambridge Exams These are recognised by thousands of employers, universities and government ministries as proof of ability to use English. AClass offers Exam Preparation Classes to cater for your very different needs and abilities. The Cambridge exams take place every March, June and December. CPE is only held in June and December. The courses usually start 12 weeks before the Cambridge ESOL exam dates except for the March session which is 9 weeks long.

Students should be 18 or over and at Lower Intermediate for AClass’ PET Preparation Class. Intermediate or Upper Intermediate level for the FCE Preparation Class and CAE Preparation Class and of an advanced level in order to join CPE preparation class. Should students of a lower level wish to join the course, they may book a General English course several weeks or months before the starting dates of the exam course. Students will be tested during the first week at school to determine the correct exam for them. Please contact us before booking this course for any additional details or questions. Exam Classes IELTS

- IELTS General or Academic Exam Preparation Course -

General training is suitable for people going to an English-speaking counrty to work or train at below undergraduate level. It is also used for immigration purposes for Canada, Australia and New Zealand. The Academic module is more focussed on testing a person’s ability to study in English at undergraduate or postgraduate level. For more information on this course visit the IELTS site.IELTS exams are held almost every month. We strongly recommend you have a minimum of 8 weeks of IELTS preparation to attain the results you want. Exam fees are not included in the price.
