Co-educational Day & Boarding School Programs for Students in Grades 9-12:
Students who are used to a traditional classroom with rows of desks may be surprised at first by Lawrenceville's Conference Plan, established in 1936 by the acclaimed educational philanthropist Edward Stephen Harkness.

Still the defining feature of the School's educational life, the Conference Plan seats 12 students around an oval table along with their teacher. Eye contact—between student and teacher, and student and student—is unavoidable.

Situated on a 150-acre campus in northwestern Montana, TWAI is an accredited, family-run boarding school for troubled teens ages 13-18 (boys & girls) from Delaware and across the U.S.

Established in 2002, we combine the benefits of a therapeutic boarding school, a wilderness program, and a residential treatment center (RTC) in a serene, beautiful, and safe location.

TWAI offers help for the following issues: poor academic performance, behavioral problems, addictions, low self-worth, spectrum disorders, ADD/ADHD, and attachment disorders among others. 

TWAI provides an extremely high standard of therapeutic treatment to our students and their families, with an exceptional degree of success.

We are a small program (40 students) which allows us to provide a truly unique and customized approach for every student. The average stay at our residential treatment center is 12 months.

With a passion for helping young people in crisis, our clinical, educational, and operations staff are among the best in the country. Typically our on site student to staff ratio is 5:1.

We create a customized program for each student that requires a minimum of 3 months. However, best results for lasting success are realized through 6+ months of treatment.

TWAI graduates average a 3.5 GPA. It is common for a student to complete 1.5 years of course work in 1 year.
Blair Academy

Blair Academy is a private, co-educational boarding school for Grades 9 through 12 in Blairstown, Warren County NJ.

Located in East Hampton and Bridgehampton, on Long Island, New York, Ross School is a private, accredited, day and boarding school offering a Grades 7 - 12 boarding option in addition to a K-12 day program.

For students entering Grades 7–12 who live outside eastern Long Island and want to attend Ross School, boarding options are available in family-style housing with faculty house parents.

Situated in Houghton, Allegany County in western NY state, Houghton Academy is a Christian boarding and day school enrolling students in Grades 6-12.

Most boarding students at Houghton Academy live in one of the two residence halls. Both dorms offer a secure, traditional residential setting. Two students most often share a room, there are shared common areas for relaxation and recreation, and the buildings are staffed by full-time employees.

An alternative to or traditional dorms is found in three Staff Houses we own close to school. These homes serve as the full-time, traditional residences of our employees families, but each house has been configured to accommodate students.

The Astor Learning Center (ALC), Upstate NY

Located in Rhinebeck in Upstate New York, The Astor Learning Center (ALC) is a therapeutic boarding school for boys and girls ages 5-13 with serious behavioral and emotional difficulties. Our residential programs are designed to provide a nurturing environment for children who must live away from their families while they receive treatment.

Established in 1980, ALC has been named three times as a Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education. Our students benefit from small class sizes (6-8 students) in a nurturing environment conducive to learning. We aim to help children who have often experienced failure in school to finally succeed.

In our Residential Treatment programs, we treat a wide range of behavioral and mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), anxiety, and fire setting behaviors.

At ALC, we welcome children from throughout New York State. Some of our students come from as far as Long Island (Nassau and Suffolk Co.), Albany, and many other areas of NY.
