Located in Glendale, in the west-central portion of the borough of Queens in New York City (NYC), Sacred Heart School is a private early childhood through Grade 8 Catholic school with three and four year old programs, primary, middle grades as well as junior high. We follow all New York State and Diocesan Standards in educating our children. Students receive comprehensive instruction in reading, language arts, writing, math, science, social studies, religion, penmanship, computer technology, Spanish, art, music, library skills, physical education, health and public speaking.

Recognizing that students need to develop socially as well as spiritually and academically we offer several extra curricular activities that they may take part in. We realize that students’ interests and talents vary so we offer a variety of programs that they may choose from. These include choir, band, scouts, basketball and cheerleaders. Sacred Heart School admits students of any race, color, national or ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school.

Located in Amenia, Dutchess County NY, The Kildonan School is an accredited, co-educational day and boarding school for children and teenagers with dyslexia and language-based learning differences. Only 90 miles north of New York City, we offer educational programs for elementary, middle and high school students (Grades 2-12). Boarding programs are available for students in grades 7-12, with 5-day & 7-day options available.

Our mission is to empower students with dyslexia by increasing their self-esteem and motivation. Students often come to us from educational experiences where they struggled to find success because that environment did not recognize their potential and/or know how to meet their needs. Kildonan uses a pure Orton-Gillingham approach, which is an instructional approach intended primarily for use with persons who have difficulty with reading, spelling, and writing of the sort associated with dyslexia. Each student receives daily one-to-one Orton-Gillingham tutoring, which complement an innovative, challenging curriculum that inspires students to love learning while preparing for college and beyond. In addition, Kildonan offers small, college-preparatory classes, extensive artistic opportunities, and competitive sports teams.
