The Big Apple Academy is a private, co-educational, independent K-12 school located in Brooklyn, New York. We offer educational programs for kindergarten, elementary school, junior high (middle) school and high school. Our school occupies two modern facilities located in the Gravesend area of Brooklyn.

Swimming classes are also scheduled as part of the physical education program (held at the Dolphin Swimming School). Kindergarteners are given an hour to nap while the rest of the school takes this time to rest through quiet play, extracurricular academic clubs and other activities.

Our curriculum is informed by the standards of learning designed for K-12 NY schools by the New York State Department of Education, as well as those provided by various national pedagogical organizations.

Our students learn through discovery methods that emphasize their ability to think critically, research, analyze evidence, synthesize ideas and formulate conclusions.

Our students have access to the latest educational technology by having their lessons scheduled in state-of-the-art computer classes. All classes are equipped with TV’s and DVD players as well as other materials produced by the school for didactic purposes.
