The Lankershim Arts Center is an all-inclusive arts facility located in the heart of North Hollywood in the NoHo Arts District of Los Angeles. For the past 10 years, the Center has been operated by The Other Side of the Hill Productions, Inc., a registered not-for-profit company, providing quality theatre, fine art and various arts programs including weekend / evening acting classes for adults and kids. The Center is home to the award-winning Road Theatre Company, NoHo Gallery LA and many arts programs geared to the growing NoHo arts community. Built circa 1939 as a Department of Water & Power Building, the Lankershim Arts Center was renovated and transformed into an arts center by the Department of Cultural Affairs of the City of Los Angeles. It is now a registered cultural landmark.

The NoHo Arts District:

The NoHo Arts District is home to more than 20 theatres, diverse art galleries, public art, professional dance studios, music recording venues west of the Mississippi, annual festivals, international dining options and a myriad of clothing and specialty shops. NoHo is "Where the Arts Are Made."

Theatre and Arts Community:

NoHo is L.A.’s theatre and arts community, for the artist as well as the arts lover. In 1992, the City of Los Angeles created the NoHo Arts District in North Hollywood to promote the natural concentration of artists and to create an economic engine fueled by the arts. Already well known for its diverse theatre and arts venues and unique cultural offerings, the NoHo Arts District is gaining momentum as one of the most noted and identifiable cultural tourism destinations in California.

Jake Carpenter began his professional acting career while at UCLA. Jake is one of the stars of the famous movie, ALIVE, which also stars Ethan Hawke and John Malkovich. Jake has acted in projects with Renee Zellweger, Dean Cain and Tim Roth. He has performed for a season on the L.A. Law television series and guest-starred in several other popular television shows. Jake loves teaching acting and has a passion for guiding his fellow actors to grow artistically and professionally.

Acting training classes for both adults and children at all levels from beginner to working professionals:

- Classes focus on doing scenes and monologues from plays and movies.

- Students do their work and then receive constructive and encouraging feedback from Jake.
