History:

Photo of Catholic K-8 School in Philadelphia PAThe current site of DePaul Catholic was originally St. Francis of Assisi Parish School, built in 1966. In 1986, due to a declining Catholic population in the Germantown area, the Archdiocese of Philadelphia combined St. Francis of Assisi, St. Vincent de Paul, and St. Madeline Sophie Schools to form St. Martin de Porres Interparochial School.

In the spring of 2009, the Pastors and Administration were granted permission from the Archdiocese of Philadelphia to change the name of the school from Saint Martin de Porres Interparochial School to The DePaul Catholic School. The reason behind the most recent change was to a) Avoid inevitable confusion between Saint Martin de Porres (24th and Lehigh) and Saint Martin of Tours (Northeast Philadelphia), and b) to embrace the traditions of our Vincentian roots. Although we will certainly miss our beloved St. Martin de Porres, the students, faculty, and staff of The DePaul Catholic School will be sure to incorporate the spirit of St. Martin throughout its halls each and every day!

Accreditation:
The DePaul Catholic School is a Middle States accredited catholic elementary school.
