Located in central Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, eastern Pennsylvania, The Philadelphia School is a private co-educational school for boys and girls in preschool through 8th grade. Theme-based learning is one of the principal tools we as progressive educators use to help students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills and to encourage them to make complex connections across disciplines. The goals of our curricular sequence are to achieve greater thematic coherence and to broaden multicultural awareness through in-depth studies of Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas.

Take I-76 East to the exit for I-676 East; take the 23rd Street exit, making a right onto 23rd Street. Continue on 23rd Street for about 1 mile. Make a right on Lombard Street. The school is on the right, at the corner of Lombard and 25th streets. There is limited parking in the Faculty Parking Lot and two-hour parking on the street. Enter the school through the Lombard Street door.

Coming North on I-95
Take I-95 North past Philadelphia International Airport. At airport follow lanes diverging from I-95 to I-76 West. Continue across Platt Bridge; turn left after bridge onto I-76 West. Take I-76 West to the University City Exit (on right). At Gray's Ferry, turn right and continue until the road dead ends. Make a right onto Bainbridge Street. At 22nd Street make a left; at Lombard Street, make a right. The school is at the corner of Lombard and 25th streets, on the right. There is limited parking in the Faculty Parking Lot and two-hour parking on the street. Enter the school through the Lombard Street door.

The Media Theatre - Broadway Musical Theater Camp
Courses / Programs
Located just west of Philadelphia in Media, Delaware County, Pennsylvania, The Media Theatre - Broadway Musical Theater Camp offers theatre, acting and voice classes for young children of six years upwards as well as teenagers. Students develop an ability to improvise and to bring one's own personal and honest response to the text or the script. All acting classes within The Media Theatre School of The Theatre follow and 8-week schedule are based on the Sanford Meisner Technique, which follows the mantra "Acting is living as truthfully as one can under an imaginary circumstance."

We also offer acting classes and theatre workshops during winter, spring and summer school breaks. In the summer we offer two week acting camps. This intensive, two-week day camp is a fun, enriching and rewarding experience. Campers write, design, and perform an improvisational theatre production that is performed on the Media Theatre stage for family, friends and the general public.
