Class sizes in Portland public schools are the fourth largest in the country.  With less individualized attention in the classroom, Parliament Tutors would like to compensate for this. “When I was in school I had older siblings to help me with homework and concepts I didn’t understand. It is so rewarding to be able to serve this purpose for the younger generation of Portland,” says Ellie Miller.

German American School of Portland
Courses / Programs
The German American School of Portland is a grade school offering preschool, kindergarten and elementary school programs with a dual language program where both the German and the English languages and cultures are taught and appreciated. Located in Beaverton, 10 km from Portland in Portland West, Oregon, our families come from all over the greater Portland area. We make teaching children a second language fun.

Not only do our students learn a second language, they are immersed in German culture through music, art, books and conversation with everyone around them. Our preschoolers and Kindergarteners acquire their first foreign language skills in a playful way without realizing how our focus on art, crafts, music, songs and games gently introduces them to German.

In fact, we open the door to more than one culture: by being bilingual, our children develop more flexibility in thinking, greater sensitivity to other languages and cultures, and a better ear for listening. Bilingualism. The gift that lasts a lifetime.
Preschool, Kindergarten & Elementary School with German / English bilingual program:

- Children are immersed in German culture through music, art, books and conversation with everyone around them.

- All of our preschool and Kindergarten teachers are certified as early childhood educators (in Germany and the US) and have native or near-fluency in German.

- We also offer before and after-school child care services.
SimplySteno
Courses / Programs
Based in Oregon, SimplySteno provides a quality court reporting program available online to students from all over the United States. To work as a court reporter, most states require you to pass the RPR exam as given by the National Court Reporters Association (NCRA).

Our goal is to help you to use your steno machine in a money-making capacity, whether it be as a court reporter, transcriber, captioner, CART (Communication Access Realtime Transcription) provider, etc.

This is NOT an entry-level program. Students must be at a minimum writing speed of 60 words per minute to start our program.

We do not teach theory, so you must enter our program with a solid grasp of whatever theory you've learned. When you feel you're ready to take on the RPR exam or start working in a state that doesn't require an exam, you can complete your program.
- SimplySteno is an online court reporting training program that prepares you to take the RPR exam. You can start our program on any Monday and work at your own pace.
