Located in Blue Island, a south suburb of Chicago in Cook County, Illinois, St. Benedict Elementary School is a private, co-educational, Catholic school, serving 178 students in grades PK-8. St. Benedict School fosters a learning climate within our school conducive to academic excellence and spiritual maturity. This helps to develop the children into thinking, problem-solving adults. All grades P-5 have in-class differentiation facilitation for identified gifted students. The pull out groupings are designed to enhance the regular classroom curriculum in grades K-5. Activities vary and include subject areas of language arts, math, science, social studies and art. The program focuses on reading, writing, listening and speaking. Higher level thinking is incorporated into all activities.
- Grades 6-8 Program:
Gifted services continue in grades 6-8. Departmental teachers provide differentiation and curriculum compacting strategies for gifted students. Both can be used successfully in heterogeneous classrooms and with almost any subject matter. Compacting allows teachers to use pre-testing to move gifted students through material they already know and on to curriculum extensions that interest them and still meet academic standards.
Curriculum extensions are a form of differentiation and accommodate gifted students' ability to learn new material at a much faster rate than their peers as well as allowing them to pursue their interests within a unit of study. Study guides are used. The gifted coordinator consults and plans with classroom teachers at all grade levels.

The Russian School of Mathematics (RSM) was created in Boston 15 years ago. Today, RSM has over 6,000 students in more than a dozen branches located in 5 states. This fall, we are very excited to be opening a Russian School of Mathematics in Naperville, IL, just 30 miles west of Chicago. RSM provides a unique, award-winning after-school mathematics enrichment program, based on the best practices of advanced math schools in Russia and Europe and adapted to the U.S. educational environment. The Einstein Academy is a school for academically talented students in grades Pre-Kindergarten through to High School located in Elgin, a suburb approximately 40 miles north-west of Chicago in Kane County in north-eastern Illinois, close to Naperville and Aurora (One block south of I-90 and Route 31 on Davis Road in Elgin).
