St. Benedict Catholic Elementary School, Chicago:
Located in Blue Island, a south suburb of Chicago in Cook County, Illinois, St. Benedict Elementary School is a private, co-educational, Catholic school, serving 178 students in grades PK-8. St. Benedict School fosters a learning climate within our school conducive to academic excellence and spiritual maturity. This helps to develop the children into thinking, problem-solving adults. As a parochial school in the Archdiocese of Chicago, we encourage our students to develop their individual gifts and talents and we provide the tools to do so though our gifted education curriculum. - Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 5:
All grades P-5 have in-class differentiation facilitation for identified gifted students. The pull out groupings are designed to enhance the regular classroom curriculum in grades K-5. Activities vary and include subject areas of language arts, math, science, social studies and art. The program focuses on reading, writing, listening and speaking. Higher level thinking is incorporated into all activities.
- Grades 6-8 Program:
Gifted services continue in grades 6-8. Departmental teachers provide differentiation and curriculum compacting strategies for gifted students. Both can be used successfully in heterogeneous classrooms and with almost any subject matter. Compacting allows teachers to use pre-testing to move gifted students through material they already know and on to curriculum extensions that interest them and still meet academic standards.
Curriculum extensions are a form of differentiation and accommodate gifted students' ability to learn new material at a much faster rate than their peers as well as allowing them to pursue their interests within a unit of study. Study guides are used. The gifted coordinator consults and plans with classroom teachers at all grade levels.

St. Bernadette Catholic Elementary School (Pre-K-8), located in Rockford in Winnebago County in northern Illinois, is an extension of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. As we share the Church's teaching and history, we hope that our students will be strong spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, socially and physically. Child's Play Touring Theatre, based in Chicago, Illinois, is a private touring theatre company offering workshops, residencies, after school programs, and summer camps across the USA.
