English Language Lessons in Singapore

Canadian Education College:
At Canadian Education College (CEC) in Singapore, we offer a range of English Language Courses to equip students with the language skills they need to survive in Singapore and the rest of the English-speaking world. Our classes are fun and interesting but also academically rigorous. We have extensive L.B.C. (learning beyond the classroom) activities and frequently take students on educational trips to some of Singapore's most interesting tourist attractions. We teach students of all levels of English - beginner, intermediate and advanced.

English Language Courses in Singapore:

Certificate in English - Elementary:
The course focuses on laying the foundation of English grammar and vocabulary, as well as listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. This course is ideal for students who have very little knowledge of the English language.
 
Certificate in English - Intermediate:
This course focuses on grammar and vocabulary, in addition to further development of listening, speaking, reading and writing, so that you will be able to use English with more confidence and fluency. This course is ideal for students who have a good background of previous English, and wish to progress in their ability to use English everyday. In order to complete the Intermediate course, students must pass requirements for both Intermediate 1 and Intermediate 2 to attain the certificate. Each level is 3 months long and comprises of daily lessons of 3 hours each. Student evaluation will be based on classroom participation, completion of daily assignments (both class work and homework), end-of-course assessment, and monitoring by the classroom teacher.
 
Certificate in English - Advanced:
This course increases the student’s knowledge and skills in English and is aimed at students who have extensive experience using English and wish to improve their fluency. Prior English knowledge is reinforced and developed for further progress in using English in a variety of real-life situations.  This course is ideal for students who are determined to use English proficiently as well as those who wish to study at an English higher education institution, and are planning to take the IELTS, TOEFL, or CAE Academic examination. In order to complete the Advanced course, students must pass requirements for both Advanced 1 and Advanced 2 to attain the certificate. Each level is 3 months long and comprises of daily lessons of 3 hours each. Student evaluation will be based on classroom participation, completion of daily assignments (both class work and homework), end-of-course assessment, and monitoring by the classroom teacher.

IELTS Preparation Courses:
IELTS is an internationally recognized English test which helps students on their journeys into education and employment. CEC’s IELTS Preparation Courses focus on equipping students with all the skills and language needed to maximize their test score. Our course covers both the Academic and General IELTS tests and is available to students who have studied general English at intermediate level or above.

Certificate in Business English:
CEC offers a Specialised Business English course that helps you develop and improve all Language skills, with a focus on Speaking and Listening. Communicative tasks will allow you to improve English fluency, and will help you to confidently use English in business situations.

Diploma in TESOL:
CEC's Diploma in TESOL is awarded by the London Teacher Training College. The course is for students who want to become a fully qualified ESL teacher.
