Co-educational Elementary School Program:
Shady Oak Learning’s vision is to create something new that we care about – a place where each child’s pattern of giftedness is recognized and encouraged, where weaknesses are managed through strengths, and where thinking abilities are developed to encourage life-long learning.
- Core Knowledge Sequence Program
Core Knowledge provides a clear outline of content to be learned grade by grade so that knowledge, language, and skills build cumulatively from year to year.
- 4-Day Week
The Shady Oak Learning weekly instructional days are Monday through Thursday. Fridays are reserved for Learning Abilities assessments, conferences and professional development.
- Small Group Instruction
Small group instruction and tutoring begins at 9 am and ends at 2 pm. For those students who need intensive one-on-one coaching and training, The Brain Workout program is available twice weekly from 3-6 pm.
- Movement & Thinking Skill Training
Motor exercises and cognitive thinking skills are practiced every day at Shady Oak Learning. This includes work on the balance board, mini-tramp, memory exercises on the computer, and paper and pencil thinking modules. This builds a good foundation for mastering academic content.
