Happy Days International Preschool is conveniently located near Ebisu Garden Place in Ebisu in central Shibuya, Tokyo. Our school is for kids aged 18 months - 5 years old where we offer developmentally appropriate, theme based curriculum which focuses on the ‘whole’ child. The school’s curriculum is based upon the Primary Years Program and the British Foundation Stage. We maintain a teacher / child ratio of 1:6. Indoor and outdoor play is part of our regular routine, and educational excursions and outings are built into our program.

Primary Years Program Objectives:
The PYP philosophy which we have built into our curriculum focuses on building certain characteristics within each individual child. Our objective is to make sure that every child starts full time school with a good basic understanding of the following qualities:
* Knowledgeable: Children are acquiring a widening range of concepts and a bank of knowledge about themselves and the world around them.
* Inquirers: Children ask questions, investigate problems and show curiosity.
* Thinkers: Children can use critical and creative thinking skills to seek solutions and solve problems.
* Well-balanced: Children show a positive attitude towards all aspects of school life.
* Communicators: Children are able to communicate both verbally and non-verbally in a range of situations using a variety of mediums including technology and art.
* Principled: Children are able to make decisions based on honesty, fairness and ethics.
* Caring: Children are understanding and supportive of each other and those around them; they are able to share their emotions.
* Reflective: Children are able to reflect on the actions or opinions of themselves or others and make decisions or give advice about how they may do something differently in the future.

* Open-minded: Children are able to embrace new ideas or points of view positively and can acknowledge the opinions, culture and beliefs of other people.
Additionally: Children receive a wide range of extra curricular activities including piano lessons, ballet, dancing, art, and yoga. We also offer a summer school program.

Ookayama International School (OIS) in Tokyo, Japan offers an alternative to the larger international schools in Tokyo. The school offers distance learning programs for grades 7-12 (ages 12 - 18) and students must attend our school to participate in them. We provide a fully accredited American high school education which has helped numerous students go on to higher education in Japan and overseas. Distance learning allows for many unique opportunities not available in the more traditional school system. Students are enrolled on distance learning programs at North Dakota Center for Distance Education or at The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Independent Study High School. These programs are fully accredited through the North Central Association Commission and School Improvement (NCACASI) and the Commission on International and Trans-Regional Accreditation (CITA). There are well over 200 different courses available for study.
Students may enroll at any time during the year, and if need be, set an individual pace for their work. Courses are also available for part-time students and those who have taken a break from education. Older students can take classes outside normal school hours.
Graduation from OIS is not based on age or grade, but rather on credits earned.

New Hope International Preschool in Tokyo, Japan is an affordable, quality Christian preschool and kindergarten. School hours are from 10:00 to 2:30, Monday through Friday. Some of our graduates enter elementary school in the spring (Japanese schools), while others enter in the fall (international schools). Rather than having a fixed beginning and ending of the school-year, we use three terms. Orientation is held at the beginning of each term (April, January, and September). Graduation ceremonies are in March for children who will enter elementary school in the spring, and at the end of June for children who will enter elementary school in the fall.
