We focus on providing General English language courses and Business English language courses to give you the best tools to communicate effectively. Our British Council accredited school is a small language school in the city centre where you can learn and improve your English skills quickly in a friendly environment.

Our English courses and study programmes are aimed at adult students who are all motivated, keen to improve their language skills, learn about the British culture and find out about each other. ACCORD Manchester welcomes many different nationalities, mostly European. We make sure that we never have a predominant nationality to guarantee that our students have access to a variety of cultures and learn about studying and working in a multi-cultural environment.

All our teachers are qualified and experienced in teaching General English and Business English. Most have taught English abroad and/or have worked in the business world.

British Council accredited, ACCORD Manchester is a small, friendly and professional English school. Our class sizes are small, which gives our students every opportunity to participate and develop their skills. Our Business English language courses are tailor-made to meet our students’ specific needs. If you need to improve your negotiation skills, our Business English teachers will incorporate this topic into the lesson plan. If you need to work on a particular skill, our English teachers will address this subject during the course.  Let us know what you need before your Business English course begins and we will make sure that your customised course meets your requirements exactly.

Whether it is a General English language course or a Business English language course, our English teachers focus on our students’ specific requirements, whether it is to pass the IELTS exam to attend a British university, further their international careers, or develop their language skills to cater for their job, etc.

Our staff are always available to help our students with any queries they may have, whether it be finding the best pub in Manchester or giving details of how best to get to historical York. During break times, students can visit the “Student Corner” to check their emails on the computer or look at what’s on in Manchester. Free wi-fi access is available to all our students throughout the school.  We do our best to make students feel comfortable with us at ACCORD Manchester and throughout their stay in the city.

Manchester is a great place to visit and there are many activities available, from art galleries, museums and theatres to jazz clubs, festivals, and sports.

ACCORD Manchester’s specialist English courses take place at Brook House in Manchester.  Brook House is a beautiful, traditional English building situated in the vibrant and cosmopolitan city centre with all its amenities. It has an international atmosphere and is home to many international companies.

ACCORD Manchester is two minutes' walk from the beautiful Town Hall and minutes' away from the city centre for shops, museums, galleries, restaurants and bars!

We are also within 5 minutes of all the major bus/tram stops and within 15 minutes of the major train stations (Piccadilly, Victoria, Deansgate and Oxford Road).

HOMESTAY

Homestay accommodation is a great way to continue practising and improving your English outside the classroom. It is also an excellent way of experiencing the British way of life and culture.

Homestay accommodation includes your own bedroom and shared bathroom, breakfast and evening meals. Please note that ACCORD Manchester acts as an intermediary and the contract is between you and your host.

Standard Room: £160.00 per person/per week

There are many hotels available in Manchester, from 5* star hotels to boutique hotels, from luxury accommodation to budget hotels, all located in the city centre. We can help you select the hotel most suited to your needs.

Budget Hotels: From £70 per night/per room
5* Hotels: From £220 per night/per room
4* Hotels: From £180 per night/per room
3* Hotels: From £80 per night/per room

SERVICED APARTMENT

You may prefer to stay in one of the high quality apartments available in Manchester city centre. It allows you to be more independent, eating in or going out or simply enjoying a night in in these beautifully furnished flats. These apartments are available both for short and long stays.

Apartment: From £85.00 per night (short stay)

HALL OF RESIDENCE (minimum 4 weeks)

Stay in a lovely, social hall of residence with English and international students within 10 minutes of the school (by bus). Students stay in their own bedroom (desk, washbasin, double bed and storage space) with access to shared bathrooms and kitchens.

Hall of residence: £90.00 per week

HALL OF RESIDENCE (summer only)

Manchester’s halls of residence are centrally located and very convenient for all amenities. All single rooms are with en-suite bathrooms. There is also access to a communal kitchen and lounge.

These residences are only available in July and August.

Car parking and broadband internet connection are available at an additional charge.

Single en-suite bedroom: £140.00 per week
