The IH London school of English offers daytime group English lessons for students and adults learning English. For people living and working in London you might want to book one of our evening English courses . Flexible study means you can take intensive lessons over a short period of time, or book a part time English course to fit around other commitments.

How We Teach:
The majority of our programmes adopt a flexible approach to teaching, with courses focusing on students practising their language skills together. We provide English and other language courses at all levels, from elementary (CEF A1) through to advanced (CEF C2). You can learn in a class or on a one-to-one basis, whatever suits you best.

At International House London we want you to achieve your full potential by being motivated and actively involved in your own studies. Our teaching style encourages regular practical use of your new language skills with fellow students; becoming more confident when speaking, listening, reading and writing.

Our English courses are generally taught in classes of 10 and the maximum number of students in any class is 14. Lessons are intensive and task based; typical activities may include roles plays, pair work with a fellow student and class discussions based on texts. You can also supplement your class learning with one-to-one tuition. Business English courses can be one-to-one, one-to-two, mini groups of up to six or closed company groups.

As one of the largest English language schools in London, International House has a variety of places for full-time students to stay. Most of our accommodation is 40-50 minutes from the school in Covent Garden and close to tube stations, bus routes or railway stations to make your journey easier.

Homestay with a host family:
When staying with a host family you can have as little or as much contact with them as you desire. To improve your English language skills, we would always recommend making the most of your time in an English-speaking home with plenty of conversation over breakfast or whilst watching TV in the evening.

You can choose from Standard, Superior or Superior En Suite levels of accommodation, staying alone or with a friend if booking together (accommodation is from Sunday to Sunday).

International House is right in the heart of London. Covent Garden is a short walk away with its historic buildings, vibrant street artists, great shops, colourful bars and restaurants. The West End is also close by with its theatres showing big musicals, like Dirty Dancing and Phantom of the Opera, as well as plays, concerts, dance and comedy. Our social programme includes trips to the theatre and nights out.

The International House London school is within walking distance of four tube stations: Tottenham Court Road (Northern Line and Central Line), Covent Garden (Piccadilly Line), Leicester Square (Northern Line and Piccadilly Line) and the nearest, Holborn Station (Central Line and Piccadilly Line).

IH London Facilities:
We are the largest single-site language school in the capital, having moved to our new purpose-built premises on Stukeley Street in 2007. The school covers nine floors and has been built specially to meet the needs of students and our teaching courses. During the busy summer months we occasionally hold classes in Bloomsbury Square, a five minute walk from the main school building. The IH London building is light, airy and spacious, with a cafe where you can grab some food, catch up with friends, or relax between classes.
