Summer Camp Programs for English Language Learners ages 10-16:
English language learners are welcome to enroll in any of our Summer Camp classes below (unless a class is listed as requiring native English proficiency).
Speaking & Presentation: Beginning & Intermediate Levels
Through repeated practice and small group activities, students become more at ease in your overall language ability through extensive work on pronunciation, enunciation, and projection. Students will be assessed and divided into appropriate levels on the first day of class.
Reading & Writing: Beginning & Writing Levels
Our instructors begin with the basics, and guide you through the rules of English composition. Then, through reading, students develop their English vocabulary, and work on expressing their thoughts clearly and eloquently in writing.
Advanced ELL: Intro to William Shakespeare
This class is intended for Advanced ELL students who are preparing to study an American curriculum, be it in the U.S. or at an international school in your home country. Shakespeare's plays are known throughout the world and have been translated into every major language. He is required reading for most American junior and high school students.
Advanced ELL: Intro to the SATs (SAT Preparation)
For ELL students, the SAT test can be quite intimidating as you are not only being tested on your cognitive skills, but also on your English comprehension. In this class, we go over the different components of the SAT and discuss strategies and study tips.
