Via Lingua Florence:
Via Lingua Florence is part of an international group of TEFL centers offering outstanding, personalized TEFL Teacher Training. Our center in Florence is located in the heart of the historical center of the city, 5 minutes from the Duomo, Piazza Signoria and Pontevecchio. The facility boasts beautiful classrooms, offices and a library, with the added bonus of a thriving language center operating there as well.
Housing is available in shared apartments, individual flats or in selected homestays or residence accommodations. We offer a full program of extra-curricular activities including wine-tasting in the Chianti region, Italian soccer matches, Harvest festivals and theatrical and musical performances.
Will I be a competent teacher by the end of the course ?
Due to the highly practical content of the CTEFL course, all graduates should have the necessary skills, confidence and ability to embark on their teaching careers and work in a professional manner anywhere in the world.
All certificate courses, however, serve as initial teacher training and those interested in pursuing teaching as a career often go on to take a diploma or MA after 2 years of teaching experience (please refer to our agreement with NOVA Southwestern University).
Does the course meet international guidelines?
Yes. Whilst there is no true international body for TEFL courses, internationally accepted guidelines state that the course must have 100 hours of input with 6 hours of teaching practice and be externally monitored. The CTEFL course has, in fact, 120 hours of input and a minimum of 10 hours teaching practice as well as being externally moderated.
TEFL Teacher Training:

Florence is a major European tourist destination and it is easy to understand why. Located in the heart of Tuscany, famous for it's wine and rustic cuisine, Florence is a perfect base from which to explore the surrounding towns and hilly countryside, with wonders such as Sienna and Assisi nearby. In the city itself, the easy accessibility of the sights to the pedestrian combines with a temperate year-round climate to make Florence and ideal destination. The school's central location in Piazza della Republica is just a few hundred meters from the Duomo, and places the student right at the center of this fascinating city.
