Costa Rica TEFL offers courses in two beautiful cities - Samara Beach in Guanacaste Province on the Pacific Coast and the colonial city of Heredia in north-central Costa Rica. Our 4-week TEFL Certificate program consists of 40 hours per week, 160 hours in total. The Costa RicaTEFL faculty are highly qualified, enthusiastic instructors and are combining their 22+ years of experience in teaching foreign languages to offer you a unique opportunity to earn a TEFL certificate that will qualify you to teach TEFL / ESL in Costa Rica or anywhere in the world.
Intensive 4-week TEFL Certification Course:This course consists of 160 contact hours, which includes training in our 12 modules (covering all of the elements of effective teaching), planning time, observed teaching practice hours, troubleshooting and feedback from both peers and trainers and resume building / job placement assistance.
Class Schedule
Each trainee must complete 160 contact hours in order to receive their TEFL certificate. Classes will be held 40 hours per week over a period of four weeks. Trainees will complete the above mentioned hours in the following: training, lesson planning, observed practice teaching, peer observation, feedback sessions, and job placement assistance.
Evaluation Process
Trainees will be evaluated throughout the course on their general performance in class, lesson plans, application of methodologies and feedback, and final observed teaching hours. Trainees will be given an observation form for each observed teaching hour as well as an overall observation form at the time of the cumulative final exam. Teachers are given a Pass A, Pass B, Pass or Fail grade.
