British Council, Amman:
Conveniently situated in Amman, The British Council offers the University of Cambridge CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) to students from Jordan and around the world. This is a 4-week TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) course that leads to an initial English language teacher qualification. It is designed for students with little or no previous teaching experience, and is also suitable for those who have some teaching experience but have never received formal training. Take the first step towards a rewarding new career!
Personally, CELTA was beneficial for my career as an English teacher because it came at a time when I was starting to lose hope of changing my place of work, my career [and] my old teaching habits of 10 years. CELTA added a lot to my career and it was well worth it! As trainees, computers, printers, and the teachers’ room were open to us at any time. Also, the staff were more than wonderful. We could spend as much time as we wanted at the British Council; everyone helped and supported us and I felt I was at home all through my stay.
