The British Council offers the Cambridge CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) course at our training centre in Amman to students from Jordan and around the world. This is a 4-week course leading to an initial English language teacher qualification, and includes observed teaching practice. This course is designed for students with little or no previous teaching experience, and is also suitable for those who have some teaching experience but have never received formal training.

4-week CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) Course:
This course aims to teach you the principles of effective teaching and to provide a range of practical skills for teaching English. You will attend input sessions; plan and practice teaching; observe experienced teachers and complete four written assignments. Input sessions on language awareness and methodology are held in the mornings, and teaching practice is in the afternoons.
