Located in La Canada, between Pasadena and Glendale in Los Angeles County, CA, The Child Educational Center (CEC) offers infant, preschool and school-age programs for children from 2 months to 12 years from La Canada, Glendale, La Crescenta, Pasadena, Altadena and neighbouring communities. Enrollment is open to any child 2 months to 5 years of age for our infant / toddler and preschool program, and any child entering kindergarten through 6th grade for our school-age program without discrimination in regard to sex, race, color, or creed. The most important part of our curriculum is people. As a result, optimal matches are important.
Factors considered in this process include: age, characteristics of development, balance of boys/girls in groups, special needs, adequate clustering of minority children. With the above in mind, children are enrolled in an effort to reflect as much diversity as possible so that children are thriving. Each child is considered as he/she relates to a fit within an already existing group.
The CEC has been continuously accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), since 1989, shortly after accreditation became available.

We teach children how to learn so they can resolve their own learning difficulties and know how to get help when they need it. Our stress is always toward a purposeful understanding and ability to use the information they are learning. Children may enroll in this school as early as four years old, assuming the student will become five years old sometime during the current school year.
