Remarkable Girls is a unique theatre program located on the Peninsula in Millbrae and San Francisco in Northern CA, offering classes, private lessons, and performance opportunities to girls ages 9-18 years. Remarkable Girls was founded by former San Francisco talent agent and performance coach Jan Downing. Programs are taught by performing arts professionals and include instruction in acting, singing, musical theatre, auditioning, and directing.
In a supportive and fun-filled environment, girls have room to stretch and grow as young artists and individuals. They tap into their imaginations, develop and polish their talents, and learn the core skills that are the building blocks of a strong theatrical foundation. Through their theatre experiences, they also develop the confidence to take risks and conquer their fears. More importantly, they find their voices and open their hearts.
Students not only learn core theatrical skills, but they also learn to take risks, increase their confidence through self-expression, and find their own voices.

Live Oak School is an independent, co-educational day school for students in kindergarten through to 8th grade located in Potrero Hill on the east side of San Francisco. Founded by parents and teachers in 1971, Live Oak draws families from Portrero, Central East, Mission District and other communities throughout the Peninsula. Live Oak is a small school where students and families know each other well. We believe that school is both a place to learn and a place to learn how to learn.
We want our students to know themselves and to know how to work with others. We want our students to leave Live Oak with the doors wide open. Our faculty, staff, board and families work together to create a learning environment that is diverse, challenging, nurturing, engaging and inspiring. We believe that the journey is as important as the destination, and at the same time, we are proud that our graduates choose among public, independent and religious high schools.

The Lycée is a PK to 12th grade college preparatory school in the San Francisco Bay Area which is based on the French national curriculum augmented by courses in American History, English Literature and Visual Arts. It provides a challenging educational environment, emphasizing academic achievement leading to the French Baccalaureate.
Designed to provide our students with a structured, well-assimilated body of general knowledge while encouraging the development of analytical and critical thinking skills, the curriculum fosters autonomy, initiative, self-respect and the respect of others, cooperation and responsibility. In addition, by becoming bilingual, our students become aware of and respect cultural differences. They are consequently able to make informed choices about their future and are prepared for success in tomorrow's world.
There are currently more than 900 students on three campuses, the Corte Madera campus, located in Marin County (PK to 5th grades), and two campuses in San Francisco, the Ashbury campus for Primary students (PK to 5th grades) and the Ortega campus for Middle and High school.

Kids Into Speaking Spanish (KISS) is a total Spanish immersion program for preschool and kindergarten age children (from 2 to 6 years), with two locations in the East Bay region of San Francisco Bay Area: Walnut Creek (East of Oakland in Contra Costa County) and Montclair, Oakland, CA. The schools are a safe and exciting place for children to grow and learn.
Our success over the last seven years is a testament to our innovative program. We provide a wonderful program designed to prepare your child for academic success. About 95% of the activities are conducted in Spanish. The core of our curriculum consists of activities and participation in cultural experiences such as singing, dancing, art projects, cooking, and games - all done entirely in Spanish.
All of the instructors we hire are native speakers because the KISS program emphasizes proper pronunciation and exposure to various aspects of Latin culture. We believe that creating an environment where children have fun, while being exposed to the Spanish language paves the way for greater receptivity to learning the language in a more structured setting later.
Katherine Michiels Elementary School is located on Guerrero Street between 25th Street and 26th Street in San Francisco's Mission District. We are easily accessible from both the 101 Freeway (via Cesar Chavez St.) and from the 280 northbound (via the San Jose exit). (KMS) is taking the lead in developing a progressive curriculum where art, music, dance, Spanish, language, outdoor education and creative writing are core to an academic program that is project based and specific to each of our learners.
Our unique curriculum takes inspiration from Mel Levine, Slingerland, Reggio Emilia Project Based Learning and similar techniques. Our program places a strong emphasis on social, academic and emotional development. We encourage children to take responsibility for themselves and others; and allow them freedom to develop a strong sense of self. Students benefit from a variety of dance opportunities including instruction from professional dance troups in the San Francisco area.
KMS owns a camp outside of Yosemite where it offers outdoor education instruction to students. Scholarships are available.
In an award-winning facility set on two acres in San Francisco, CA, Brandeis Hillel Day School is a non-affiliated, community school where children from diverse Jewish backgrounds create and participate in an environment of learning and support. Begun in 1963 as the Brandeis School, the school merged with the Hillel Day School in 1973. A Marin campus located in San Rafael was opened in 1978. The curriculum here is varied, integrated and challenging, with students developing a strong foundation in the basic academic disciplines of English, Hebrew, mathematics, science, social studies and Judaic studies. The arts, athletics, music and outdoor education are also taught.
The highest value is placed on cultivating in students and faculty the qualities of compassion, kindness and mutual respect. The school recently completed construction of a state-of-the-art building to accommodate K-3rd grades, a music room, multi-purpose room, and science lab. Construction on a performing arts complex begins within the next few years. The Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and the California Association of Independent Schools (CAIS) accredit BHDS.
