West Hollywood has a caring and professional staff committed to working with each student kindergarten through sixth grade and their family to create an exceptional learning environment. Our school's current API score is 825, we have had an increase of over 200 points in the last five years. Enrichment Program - Champions
:
At CHAMPIONS we believe that every person is a champion and deserves to feel like one. We use the opportunities provided by physical fun, arts education and enrichment activities to increase self-confidence, communication skills and a sense of belonging. We bring together people of diverse backgrounds and varying abilities in activities that strengthen the individual and the community.

Session Information:
All enrichment classes are held for a total of 10 weeks unless noted in the Class Description. Students will meet in the Auditorium at the end of the school day. You should plan to pack a light snack for your child. Kindergarten students will be accompanied to the auditorium by a Champions teacher. At 3:10pm (2:10pm Tuesdays) the Enrichment Instructor will pick up the students and take them to their first class. Children enrolled in other after-school programs (i.e. Youth Services, BGCH) will be supervised during transitions between the different programs. If you want your child released to Youth Services care you must check the appropriate box on the registration form and sign. Please be prompt in picking your child up after their class ends if they are not being released to Youth Services.

Focus Fish is our Physical Fitness Program. Instructors come to each class once a week and teach various sports activities such as: Yoga, Karate, Soccer, Dance, and much, much more. The children learn sportsmanship, discipline and teamwork along with learning many new sports.

After school Programs:
West Hollywood Elementary is proud to offer our students numerous school activities and professional after school programs. We invite you to explore all that West Hollywood Elementary has to offer!

Theater:
West Hollywood Elementary, in coordination with Yada (Youth Academy of Dramatic Arts), produces a fantastic live play for all students who would like to participate. Rehearsals are held as an after school enrichment class once a week with a school show for the students and teachers only and a weekend show for parents, friends and families. This production is directed by Persephone Laird of Yada. Our Arts and Enrichment Committee Chairman Jolene Hjerleid is the school contact and coordinator and of course lots of volunteer parents. The kids have a great time performing for their friends and classmates so come be a part of the Show!

Boys & Girls Club of Hollywood
:
Once again, West Hollywood Elementary School will partner with the Boys & Girls Club of Hollywood to provide the 21st Century After School Program for your children. This program provides educational and extracurricular activities for your child during the hours immediately following school. The Boys & Girls club of Hollywood and its dedicated staff will be implementing the program.

If you wish to have your child participate in the program, please pick up and complete an application from the office and return it to the school as soon as possible. We require applications for all students to be renewed every school year, including for the children who have already participated in the program.

Details about the program:

• The after school program is open from 2:45 to 6:00pm Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, and from 1:45 to 6:00pm on Tuesdays.
• Homework assistance, arts & crafts and recreational activities will be available for children in grades K through 6.
• The program is not open on holidays observed by the school.
• When you sign up your child for the 21st Century Program hePhotos of West Hollywood Elementary, Los Angeles/she will automatically receive a free one-year membership to the Boys & Girls Club of Hollywood, allowing him/her to take full advantage of all programs our Club has to offer. Our Club is located at 850 N. Cahuenga Blvd. Children participating at this location must be 6 year of age or older.

Orchestra:
The Children's Music Workshop provides weekly instruction for children wishing to participate in the Orchestra Program. Learning to play an instrument can help children focus, increase test scores and calm behavior problems.
