UCC is Ireland's leading university (named University of the Year for 2003-2004) with a very wide range of courses, both at undergraduate and postgraduate level, and an extensive programme for international students. UCC welcomes over 1700 international students every year. From more than 75 countries worldwide, some students come for a year or less as visiting students; others enroll as full-time students for the duration of our programmes. University College Cork has eight faculties: Arts, Celtic Studies, Commerce, Engineering, Food Science and Technology, Law, Medicine and Science. Dublin City University (DCU) is a university situated in Glasnevin on the Northside of Dublin in Ireland. Created as the National Institute for Higher Education, Dublin in 1975, it enrolled its first students in 1980 and was elevated to university status in 1989 by statute.
