General English:CEnglish Language Schools / Classesourses from Beginner level to Advanced - six levels: Beginner, Elementary, Pre-Intermediate, Intermediate, Upper Intermediate and Advanced. All students except total beginners are given a placement test when they arrive. Students are monitored and may move to a higher level when the teacher and Director of Studies agree that they have reached the level. We use up to date materials and a range of teaching methods and approaches to cater for individual learning styles. Students on General English programmes can request extra preparation for the Trinity Spoken English Examinations in spring and summer at no extra charge.


IELTS Preparation:We place students in one of two levels - Foundation Level or Higher. The minimum band score to enter the Higher Level class is 5.5. (either assessed by us or already achieved by the student) Students can choose from a range of timetables and can combine classes to do more hours per wEnglish Language Schools / Classeseek according to their needs, from 6 hours a week to 21.


Business English:We provide Business English lessons twice a week in the afternoons for a total of 6 hours per week. There are two levels: Intermediate and Upper Intermediate. Students can enter the Cambridge Business English Certificate Examination twice a year, in May and November.


English for Law:We follow the syllabus and use the materials designed by the Cambridge University Press for the ILEC certificate in Legal English. Students must have a good higher intermediate level of English for this course, which takes place on two afternoons a week.


Foundation Year:The Foundation Year program is designed to give students a thorough preparation for undergraduate study in the UK. It covers study skills, critical thinking, research methods, English for Academic Purposes, IELTS preparation (optional), IT skills (optional) and Business English (optional) Students can begin the course at any time, although we recommend entry in September-October or December-January. The total number of hours per week can vary from 21 to 30 hours, depending on how many electives the student decides to take.
