Portuguese Language Immersion in Brazil

At IDIOMA Portuguese language school, adults can discover the culture and traditions of Brazil and, more specifically, the city of Salvador da Bahia through the porthole of this beautiful language. IDIOMA operates all year and courses start every Monday at any level, from duration of one week up to a month.
On the first day, students with some knowledge of Portuguese take a short test to determine their level of achievement. Based on the results of this test, we place each student in the group that best approximates his or her language level. This helps to reduce differences in language proficiency among members of a class.
Group courses:
With a maximum of six students in a group, you can enjoy four classes (regular) or six classes (intensive) each day, from Monday to Friday. The courses contain grammar, reading, and writing lessons as well as interactive roll-playing activities for all group members. Listening and comprehension practice and listening
to Brazilian music complement the lessons. The course aims, corresponding to the level, to prepare you to deal with everyday situations, to satisfy basic needs, to understand information and discuss even difficult subjects articulately.
Individual Courses:
This program offers all the advantages of private lessons as they are tailored to meet your special needs. You can even request to develop and to practice specific individual language skills. The courses are made for those who wish to learn Portuguese quickly and with excellent results.
CELPE BRas Course:
The CELPE-Bras (Certificado de Profici
ência em Língua Portuguesa para Estrangeiros) is the only official and recognized diploma of Portuguese language studies for foreigners. The exam was established by the Brazilian Ministry of Education and Culture (MEC) in cooperation with the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE). It is internationally recognized as proof of competence in the Portuguese language. The test examines written and spoken communication skills in Brazilian Portuguese in different every day situations. Once having taken the exam you will be placed in one of the following levels:
· Intermediário
· Intermediário Superior
· Avançado
· Avançado Avançado Superior
