The London Language Foundation:
Based in the Limehouse Lock area of East London, in the Borough Tower Hamlets, The London Language Foundation (LLF) is a not-for-profit organisation focused on providing a language service to enhance the lives of individuals wishing to develop their English language skills. We offer a range of English Language courses to a variety of student / customer groups or individuals. LLF are pleased to assist our students to improve their language skills for social, business or academic purposes. LLF is a non-political equal opportunities organisation and welcomes individuals and organisations from all cultures and countries to join us at Limehouse Lock.
English Language Courses:
LLF courses are offered at all levels, according to the Common European Framework of Reference, from Elementary (A1) to Pre-Intermediate (A2) to Intermediate (B1) to Upper-Intermediate (B2) to Advanced (C1) to Proficiency (C2).
LLF courses normally last four or six weeks, and can be extended according to student requests. We also tailor 'Intensive courses' on request for between one and four weeks. General English Courses:
For students who want to improve all areas of their English language skills. All skills (writing. reading, listening, speaking) and all systems (grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, discourse). Benefits of the course include:
- Be able to hold real conversations with greater confidence
- Develop your language skills for future exams which you may want to take in the future e.g. IELTS or FCE
- You will sense that your English level progresses efficiently
Micro Group English Classes:
The perfect compromise between full class lessons and individual lessons: Having small class sizes means extremely efficient progress, but also allows for an engaging exchange of ideas and opinions between students, as well as valuable group-interactive language practice.
One to One / Private English Lessons:
Benefit from all the advantages of having a teacher to yourself. Courses are designed according to your own personal exact learning needs and requirements. Your progress will be at the exact level and pace which is specifically appropriate for you.
IELTS Exam Preparation Course:
This course will give you the exam skills, as well as the grammar and vocabulary development, which you will need to progress towards success in the IELTS exam.
All parts of the exam will be covered comprehensively, and a full mock exam (practice exam) will help you to feel confident when you take the real exam.
This course is offered as a normal full-time course, 3 hours per day, and also intensively for just one day per week, 6 hours per day.
Business English Course:
Focus on all the usual areas of English study (grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, speaking, listening, writing, reading), but with a course which mainly uses business contexts, situations, and business- specific vocabulary and phrases.
Academic Study Skills with Business English:
This course is designed for students who want to improve their academic skills, and includes the opportunity to focus on reading and writing assignments.
Students can also improve their Business English vocabulary, and develop their English skills for job application and/ or university application.
Executive English:
We can also offer ‘Executive Courses’ for small classes who want to be studying English language for high-level management usage. All Language Skills will be practiced with business-specific contexts. For example, speaking skills could be developed with a “business meeting” role-play exercise.
Communicative Language Practice:
Cover the all important areas of grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation with a communicative approach. This means your teacher will help you to engage with the language, experiment, and communicate.
English Language for Citizenship:
- Course 6, Part A: UK Citizenship Test Preparation
On this course, your teacher will go through all the topic areas, such as geography and history, helping you to both understand and memorize the key facts and figures. Your teacher will bring the material to life with various listening and reading activities, as well as help you to understand problematic vocabulary and phrases.
- Course 6, Part B: B1 Intermediate for UK citizenship with some IELTS preparation:
This course is for students who need to prove their English is at B1 level in order to apply for UK citizenship. Your teacher will be helping you with the technical aspects of your English language (vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation) as well as your reading, writing, listening.
