Russian is one of our specialty languages that we offer in 8-week sessions. Suitable for beginners to advanced level, our Russian classes focus on building conversation skills through role plays, interaction activities, and cultural discussions.
Bilingual Russian Boot Camp
1-day intensive workshop for beginners
This unique crash course allows you to master the basics of Russian in one 6-hour Sunday session. You will learn much of the information covered in Russian Beginner I.
After covering the Cyrillic alphabet and pronunciation, you will learn greetings, time, money, numbers, food, and the vocabulary necessary to ask for and give directions. You will learn to conjugate basic verbs in the present tense, and to manipulate sentence structure depending on the intended meaning of verbs and nouns. Cultural topics include Russian names, holidays and festivals, table manners, and other helpful travel tips.
Private Russian Lessons - Available for adults, kids and teens
Private or semiprivate Russian lessons can be held at our school in West Bucktown or at a location of your choice in the Chicagoland area. Learn at your own pace and schedule your sessions around your work, school, or family commitments. Whether you would like to improve workplace communication, to connect with your family heritage, or simply enjoy a more personalized class experience.
We also offer private or semiprivate Russian tutoring for kids of all ages - from preschooler through to high school teens.

Situated in Normal IL, part of the Normal-Bloomington community in central Illinois, Illinois State University's English Language Institute provides a comprehensive English language training to students from around the world. Our Intensive English Program (IEP) focuses on practical learning and the special needs of adult language learners.All classes are taught in small groups of two to fifteen students. With a progressive curriculum and 18 contact hours per week, the ESL Program is ideal for non-native English speakers preparing for undergraduate or graduate academic work in the United States.
