The University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Nursing, chartered as the University of Alabama School of Nursing in 1950, offers a range of graduate and undergraduate nursing degree programs.

The UAB School of Nursing is located in the heart of Birmingham's medical community and is Alabama's research-intensive nursing school. The School's state-of-the-art simulation and technology labs provide students the opportunity to practice clinical skills from delivering a baby to working with electronic records and provide preparation for real-life clinical environments. Students complete clinical rotations at UAB Hospital, which was named in 2009 Among America's Best Hospitals by U.S. News and World Report.

From the South: Take I-65 North to the 8th Avenue South (University Boulevard) exit. The School of Nursing is located at 1701 University Boulevard across from the UAB Eye Care Center/School of Optometry.

From the North: Proceed through the 1-65/1-59 Interchange and continue south. After passing through the interchange, take the second exit (4th Avenue South). Proceed east along 4th Avenue South until you reach 14th Street south. Turn right on 14th Street South and proceed for approximately four blocks. Turn left on University Boulevard (8th Avenue South). The School of Nursing is located at 1701 University Boulevard across from the UAB Eye Care Center/School of Optometry.
