Career Training & Certification Programs:

CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT (CNA) TRAINING PROGRAM: 
The Nursing Assistant Training Program consists of 150 hours of classroom, skills lab and clinical instruction designed to prepare qualified individuals to become safe and competent Nursing Assistants in a variety of health-care facilities. Upon completion of the program, the students receive a Certificate of Completion of the Nursing Assistant Program and become eligible to take the state competency testing.

ACUTE CNA TRAINING PROGRAM:
Acute Nurse Assistant Training Program consists of 32 hours of academic coursework, and 48 hours of clinical experience.

Our Nursing Assistant Training program will inspire students to adhere to ethical, moral and professional standards of nursing practice through the integration of the school’s philosophy and curriculum. Our program will also focus on building a high level of confidence in all areas of nursing practice competencies which will enable students provide optimal care to patients.

MEDICAL BILLING & CODING:
The Medical Billing and Coding Certificate Training Program provides students with the skills and knowledge to begin a medical billing and coding career. This nationally recognized Medical Billing and Coding online training certificate program is designed to prepare students to fill positions for medical coding and billing professionals. Skilled medical billing and coding technicians are in high demand these days! In recent years, there has been a rapid increase in medical tests, treatments, and procedures that will be increasingly scrutinized by health insurance companies, regulators, courts, and consumers. Also, patient information must be entered into computer databases to comply with new Federal legislation requiring the use of electronic patient records. Finally, health care facilities are having difficulty attracting qualified workers, mostly because of the lack of both formal training programs and sufficient resources to provide on-the-job training for coders.

STERILE PROCESSING TECHNICIAN: 
The sterile processing and distribution technician decontaminates, inspects, assembles, and sterilizes instruments and surgical trays. The technician also manages inventory control, orders supplies, inspects, maintains, delivers and retrieves equipment and instruments for the surgery suite, emergency room and intensive care units. A hands-on clinical practicum experience in an area hospital is included in the course of study.

This program prepares graduates for eligibility for the National Certifying Examination given by the National Institute for the Certification of Healthcare Sterile Processing and Distribution Personnel. Career Ladder: Students may apply credits toward the Surgical Technology program.

MEDICAL ASSISTING TRAINING PROGRAM:
Cornerstone's Medical Assisting program provides students with the necessary skills for employment in a clinic or physician's office. Students will be taught medical terminology, medical front office procedures, x-ray information, anatomy/physiology, and laboratory diagnostic procedures and more.

Medical Assistants can engage in both administrative and clinical work to keep a medical office running with ease. The administrative side can include answering phones, greeting patients, and updating files. Clinical duties can include recording vital signs and assisting doctors during exams. Many medical assistant schools will teach a variety of skills, as the responsibilities of a medical assistant can vary from office to office.

PHYSICAL THERAPY AIDE PROGRAM:
This course is designed to prepare students for employment as a Physical Therapy Aide. Students will learn anatomy and physiology, body mechanics, vital signs, reporting, charting, patient interaction skills, and the use of equipment and techniques to aid patients in rehabilitation.

HEALTHCARE INTERPRETER PROGRAM:

The Pharmacy Technician Certificate Program was developed in response to a rising need for trained technicians to work in either the hospital or retail pharmacy setting. In recent years, the Pharmacy Technician profession has become indispensable to the healthcare field. A nationwide shortage of pharmacists and a growing consumer demand for prescription medications have allowed pharmacy technicians the opportunity to play a continually more important role in today's pharmacy industry. With this growing opportunity, however, has also come increased responsibility, and this increased responsibility has made Pharmacy Technician Certification an important issue for many industry employers and some state legislatures.
