Then our 3 Month Nature and Marine Guide course is for you!

Our 3 Month FGASA Level One Nature and Marine Guide course is an exciting academic & practical skills program that builds strong foundations for you to enter the guiding industry with confidence. The Marine Guide qualification is a new addition to our course program, being just half an hour from the sea enables us to share not only the bush but also the sea with our students.

Our course will not only focus on South Africa’s exciting terrestrial environment but will include the vulnerable and extremely specialized marine environment opening up new opportunities for our students and creating guides with a broader understanding of our planet. This three month course is the first of its kind in the South African guide training industry.

Three Month FGASA Level One NATURE & MARINE Guide Certificate. Courses begin January, April, June & September. Tailor Made programs for High Schools and Universities also available.

Ulovane Environmental Training is an endorsed training provider under the Field Guides Association of Southern Africa (FGASA).

Our outstanding training facility is comfortable and fitted with top of the range training equipment to ensure that our students find themselves in the perfect study environment to stimulate excellent results. Ulovane Camp has taken training a step further in its GREEN initiative. All our electricity is produced locally in the form of a solar system, hot water in the showers are produced by solar geysers, all our refuse is recycled supporting local green initiatives and our grey water and rain water are filtered through a reed bed system to water our newly developing vegetable garden. We show our students and visitors how each person can make a difference to the current electricity and water situation in the world by becoming conscious consumers starting at home. The camp also hosts a laundry where dust, mud, sweat and grass seeds can be removed from your uniform after a busy day in the bush.

Accommodation during the practical component of the Trails guide certificate is in the form of staff accommodation provided by the specific lodge where the practical component will take place.

Ulovane is showing their commitment to the Eco Tourism industry and South Africa by continuing their PREVIOUSLY DISADVANTAGED INDIVIDUAL INITIATIVE. Ulovane provides training for one Previously Disadvantaged Individual from the direct community per year and assist in providing employment once the training is successfully completed, at no cost to the individual.
