Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) / Geriatric Nursing Assistant Program
Caroline Center is certified by the Maryland Board of Nursing to conduct classes and issue certification for nursing assistants. Women enrolled in this program also take courses in medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and dementia care and receive CPR certification.

Nursing homes such as Stella Maris, St. Elizabeth's and Maria Health Care Center provide clinical internships and often do a direct hire upon successful completion of the course.

Pharmacy Technician Program
Caroline Center is certified by the Maryland Board of Pharmacy to conduct classes and issue certification for pharmacy technicians. This training prepares women for employment in community pharmacies, hospital pharmacies or long-term care facilities.

Upon completion of the course, which includes 15 weeks of classroom instruction, training in Pharmaserv software which is the standard used by pharmacies nationwide, as well as an on-site internship, women receive certification in the State of Maryland. Two to four week internships in pharmacies such as Walgreens, Giant, Safeway, Remedi SeniorCare and CorrectRx give the trainees valuable practical experience.

General Education Diploma (GED) Training
This program accepts 15-20 women who are interested in obtaining a General Education Diploma (GED).  This program runs in 15-week cycles, 3 days a week, 9 a.m. to noon.  Group and one-on-one tutoring is available.

Counseling
Caroline Center, in an effort to provide a holistic approach for the women who come for job/career training and education, offers a variety of counseling and support services. These services are unique among job training programs in Baltimore and are considered critical in helping the women achieve their professional and personal aspirations.

Group counseling sessions are held weekly for all women to gain the personal growth and life skills necessary to be successful in the workplace.  Throughout the 15 week program, professional staff members address issues related to family dynamics, self esteem, parenting, relationships, abuse, education, past employment, living situations, etc. as appropriate. Individual counseling and social work services are available to all the women in the program.

Career Support Services
Trainees and alumnae are provided career support/retention services. Each woman completes an individual retention plan with the Career Coach who follows her move into the workplace. Other retention strategies include continued contact with our alumnae through mentoring, job site visits, phone calls, newsletters and special events.

We offer support to employers by providing intervention and counseling when requested. Alumnae are welcome to use our services to update their resumes, take GED classes, perform job search, or obtain personal counseling.
