Sign Language Interpreting Major at Goshen College:
Located 25 miles southeast of South Bend, in Goshen, North Indiana, Goshen College is a private, co-educational, residential, college of the liberal arts and sciences rooted in the Anabaptist-Mennonite tradition. The American Sign Language Department at Goshen College offers major and minor degree programs in Sign Language Interpreting. The sign language interpreting major at Goshen College will introduce you to the rich language and culture of the Deaf community. We then use those language skills to teach you how to interpret between spoken English and ASL or signed English. Our sign language interpreting program’s small class sizes will allow you to work closely with your professors and peers in a rigorous but supportive setting.

Accreditation:
Goshen College is accredited as a standard four-year college by the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools and is classified as a National Liberal Arts I (B-I) College by the Carnegie Foundation.
Goshen College is authorized by the Indiana State Board of Education and accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education for the preparation of elementary and secondary school teachers.
Sign Language Interpreting Degree Programs:
- Major Degree in Sign Language Interpreting
- Major Degree in American Sign Language Education
- Minor Degree in American Sign Language
The Modern and Classical Languages and Literatures (MCLL) Department also offers majors and minors in Spanish as well as lessons in French, Arabic, Khmer, Mandarin and Swahili.

Goshen offers a variety of housing options for students. They can choose between residence halls, college-owned houses, student apartments and small group housing.

There is almost always something happening on campus – if it's not a Campus Activities Council dance or show then it's a music or theater performance, or a sporting event, or an interesting speaker, or maybe a movie being shown for fun or a spiritual activity from Campus Ministries.
