Canadian Independent College:
Canadian Independent College (CIC) is a co-educational, university-preparatory college and boarding school in Ontario, Canada, providing a caring and inclusive learning environment for students in Grades 9-12. CIC represents excellence in preparing students for entrance into Universities and Colleges throughout the world. We emphasize the development of each student to his or her potential in terms of intellectual, ethical, physical, and social qualities. Our well-qualified staff and administration are committed to academic excellence.
Co-educational Secondary School Boarding Programs - Grades 9-12:Canadian Independent College continues to be organized around a complete trimester system whereby a student can accumulate 10 complete high school credits from the beginning of September to the end of June without attending summer school. While we do not recommend this academic pace for all students, it is readily available for the student who is so inclined.
By the end of grade 10, students will have completed 16 of 18 compulsory courses required by the Ministry of Education for graduation purposes. These courses will be taught at the level that will enable students to complete OSSD standards as well as begin their preparation for the Advanced Placement exams in years three and four. Courses and programs include:
- High School (Grades 9 -12)
- Pre-University (English & French Programs)
- University Transfer Programs
- Advanced Placement Courses (AP)
- Summer Camps (under 17 years of age)
- Winter Camps
- Exchange Student program
- English as a Second Language (ESL) Courses
- French Bilingual Classes
Successful completion of exams allows students to gain university credits concurrently with the completion of grade twelve credits.
