One to One & Two to One - General and Business English:
This is for people who want personal attention. You will work with one of ELI's One to One Tutors. Your tutor can design a programme of study just for you, for example, a Business English or Professional English class. There will be workshops and trips too. Our general leisure programme timetables can fit with this 'One to One' and 'Two to One' timetable. Take home a digital video CD-ROM / DVD of your presentation / role plays or speaking activities in class. Students have told us this is a great way to help review vocabulary and maintain the speaking skills attained during the course.
Executive English:
English Language Ireland Executive Course is an intensive programme aimed at busy executives in a range of industries. Entry level is Intermediate Level or above. Groups are small – maximum 4 per class. The core course content includes presentation skills, negotiation techniques, and the wider range of business skills.
English and Work Experience:
Students come all year round for this programme which gives exposure to English language in the workplace. English Language Ireland (ELI) undertakes to provide an English Language Course for a period of one week prior to commencement of work placement. Additional lessons can be arranged if required. The aim of the language programme is to bring students' level of English to that required for survival in the workplace and to familiarise the students with Irish culture.
English Language Ireland also undertakes to identify work placements to match the experience and skills of the trainees. We liaise with the host organisations throughout the programme which can be for any duration up to 12 months. Airport transfers can be arranged if required. Most adult programme participants choose to travel independently. In that case, the trainees must contact the host family in advance to let them know the approximate time of arrival in Carlow. The host will arrange to collect the trainee at the Bus Park or Train Station - whichever is appropriate.
