International Summer School - Galway:
The International Summer School at National University of Ireland, Galway offers a number of English Language Summer courses – General English at Intermediate, Advanced and Proficiency Levels and Business and Executive English. These courses are not designed for beginners. Students must be 18 years or over, and must already have at least elementary standard. Studying in Galway will give students an opportunity to improve their English in the attractive environment of the West of Ireland.
SU291 General English – Intermediate Level
This three week course is designed to develop fluency and communicative skills. There will be morning classes covering relevant grammar topics, vocabulary, related reading material and listening exercises. The course will also address material relevant to the Cambridge First Certificate in English.
SU292 General English – Advanced Level
This three week course will extend the advanced student’s knowledge of English vocabulary, grammar and idiom, as well as developing fluency. Emphasis in the morning sessions is on speaking and listening skills. The classes will also be suitable for students who wish to sit the Cambridge Examination in Advanced English.
SU293 – General English – Proficiency Level
This three week course is designed for students who have reached Advanced Level and wish to prepare for the Cambridge Proficiency Examination. Classes will concentrate on the use of authentic materials, fluency, advanced idiom practice and regional accent variations. The course will also cover the use of English for Academic Purposes.
SU294 Business English Course
This two-week course is intended for people with a business background or students of business and commerce. Morning sessions concentrate on language functions and vocabulary relevant to business life/business communications. Please note there must be a minimum of 4 students to run this course.
