Metalwerx School:
Established in 1998, Metalwerx offers professional weekly jewelry classes and short intensive workshops with a personable feel. Metalwerx is a non-profit school and community studio for jewelry making and metal arts located in Waltham, Massachusetts. We offer instruction on a wide range of topics for all jewelers and metalsmiths, from the novice to the professional, in our fully equipped studio. We offer small, personalized classes in a supportive, enthusiastic, community environment.
Our Mission:
The mission of Metalwerx is to enrich people's lives by exposing them to a creative, stimulating environment, expertly taught classes and a community of dedicated practitioners with a focus in metals. Members of the Metalwerx community work as teacher’s assistants and school ambassadors, ensuring that your experience is productive and memorable.

Private Lessons:
Private Lessons in the basics of jewelry making are available through Metalwerx. We have many outstanding metalsmiths and jewelers who can help you. Rates are $50 an hour and by appointment. If you have a question regarding private lessons, use our contact form for questions.
Jewelry and Silversmithing Repairs:
Metalwerx is associated with many fine jewelers and whom we feel are up to the standards and quality of excellent craftsmanship. If you are in need of a jewelry repair, please contact us and we will direct you to one of our preferred associates.
Open Studio:
Our studio is your studio. By appointment, you can sign up for studio time. Rates are $10 per hour, sold in blocks of ten hours each. A one time maintenance fee of $50 is payable when purchasing the first block. Students must have basic jewelry making skills and feel comfortable with a torch. This is a time for you to work independently and use the Metalwerx tools.

Transart Institute, Manhattan
Courses / Programs
Founded in 2004 by two artists, the Transart Institute in Manhattan, NYC is an art school that provides a contemporary learning experience without grades or pre-formatted curricula. We offer an international low-residency Master of Fine Arts (MFA) and a practice-based PhD program for working artists in a highly individualized format. Our students are generally working professionals with wider world experience than students from a serial undergraduate/graduate course of study. The low-residency approach, with intensive residencies, gives our students the opportunity for deeper academic experiences than within a traditional full residency context.
The innovative MFA program consists of three intensive summer residencies with lectures, workshops, critiques, seminars, performances and exhibitions in Europe and two fall residencies in New York. In the four semesters between residencies, students create their own course of study realizing individual art and research projects with the support of faculty and self-chosen artist mentors wherever they work and live.
The MPhil/PhD is a three to four year full time degree program with an average work commitment of 30 hours per week. The Degree is only offered for practice-based research (creative work) accompanied by a written thesis that contextualizes the work.

Anemone Makeup
Courses / Programs
Serving the Greater Boston and New England areas, Anemone Makeup is a beauty training school in Burlington MA that offers a week-long Makeup Artist Training Program which includes makeup classes and workshops for aspiring makeup artists.
