Housed in recently restored historic buildings, Languages International is situated in and around beautiful Albert Park beside the University of Auckland campus. The school is New Zealand's longest-operating English language school (since 1978) and is highly regarded for its teaching quality and its friendly, comfortable atmosphere. You have free email access and independent study time in our multimedia learning centres. Your main class textbooks and internet access, are free. We organise after-school social activities every day and trips every weekend. We offer general English courses to all ages from 18 years. Cambridge ESOL - Since 1988. Languages International was the first New Zealand institution to gain approval as a Cambridge Teacher Training Centre.

ISO 9001:2000 - Since 1994. Languages International was the first language school in New Zealand, and the second in the world, to gain full ISO accreditation for its quality management systems.

Auckland
is close to popular sightseeing destinations in the North Island, including the Bay of Islands, Coromandel, Rotorua and Taupo. Day trips to Piha, the Waitakere ranges and Waiheke Island can involve bush walks, surfing, wine tasting or just sunbathing on a beach. During winter, you can ski at the popular Whakapapa and Turoa resorts in the Central Plateau region. There are lots of beaches close to the city centre. Takapuna, Cheltenham, St Heliers and Mission Bay are popular places for water sports, swimming, sunbathing and relaxing in the many cafés and restaurants.

Christchurch
is smaller than Auckland, with a green and elegant city centre. You can take day trips to the beautiful little town of Akaroa, where you can see seals, dolphins and penguins, or to Hanmer Springs for hot pools, jet boating or bungy jumping. You can also travel to the Southern Alps for activities such as white-water rafting and hiking in the summer, skiing and snowboarding in the winter. Christchurch also has great sandy beaches, where you can go surfing or windsurfing. In the city centre, enjoy sightseeing, eating out, shopping or visiting the clubs and pubs.

Taylors College Auckland provides specialised university preparation programs in partnership with leading universities in New Zealand. With successful completion of the Taylors Auckland Foundation Year (TAFY), you will be guaranteed entry into the University of Auckland, AUT University and Massey University. You may also apply for other universities in NZ, Australia, UK or the USA. In 2010, 85% of TAFY students were offered a tertiary place. Our university preparation courses are open to students from New Zealand and international students from around the world.

There are two study options available for Taylors Auckland Foundation Year. If you have superior grades in English and relevant subjects and want to fast track your pathway to University, you can take the Intensive (Accelerated) Program. Intake is in April only and the course is 30 weeks. If you have achieved at least average grades in English and relevant subjects, the Standard Program will be suitable for you. You can start your study in January (39 weeks), July (39 weeks) or August (36 weeks).
