Lectures are usually given in English, therefore a good knowledge of the language is essential. The sending institution must certify each student's ability to study and sit exams through English. The Dublin Institute of Technology has a long history of providing education up to the highest levels for over 100 years. GMIT’s own personal story began on Monday, 18th September 1972 when the first students entered the new Regional Technical College building on Dublin Road, Galway.
