University of Malta, Msida:
The only university in Malta is the University of Malta, founded in 1592, it became a university in 1769. It is the oldest university in the Commonwealth outside of the United Kingdom. Foundations Studies Course:
This is a one-year preparatory course at the University of Malta. It is specially designed for those overseas students who do not have all the necessary entry requirements for undergraduate degree programmes. Some students may also benefit from this preparatory course after completing pre-University education in their own country.
Faculty of Arts
The Faculty of Arts is one of the largest Faculties with a student population totalling some 1,300. Thirteen departments offering Bachelor of Arts degree programs - Arabic and Near Eastern Studies, Classics and Archaeology, English, French, German, History, History of Art, International Relations, Italian, Maltese, Philosophy, Sociology, and Translation and Interpreting – make up the Faculty of Arts.
