Foundations Studies Course:
This is a one-year preparatory course at the University of Malta. It is specially designed for those overseas students who do not have all the necessary entry requirements for undergraduate degree programmes. Some students may also benefit from this preparatory course after completing pre-University education in their own country.
Faculty of Arts
The Faculty of Arts is one of the largest Faculties with a student population totalling some 1,300. Thirteen departments offering Bachelor of Arts degree programs - Arabic and Near Eastern Studies, Classics and Archaeology, English, French, German, History, History of Art, International Relations, Italian, Maltese, Philosophy, Sociology, and Translation and Interpreting – make up the Faculty of Arts. Saint Martin's Institute of Higher Education is a private tertiary education institution, licensed by Malta's National Commission for Further and Higher Education. The Institute was founded in 1985 offering ordinary level computer science. The Institute then began offering an alternative to youths: the opportunity to read for degrees through the University of London International Programmes.The Department of Computing & Information Systems soon developed, and through the University of London International Programmes, SMI was able to deliver tuition for a variety of courses.
