We focus on six specific learning areas which form the basis of the Foundation Stage curriculum.

These areas are:
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
- Communication, Language and Literacy
- Mathematical development
- Knowledge and Understanding of the World
- Physical Development
- Creative Development

Primary Years Programme:

Key Stage One: The Key Stage 1 (KS1) curriculum commences at the beginning of Year 1 (aged 5) and finishes at the end of Year 2 (aged 7), when children are formally assessed by National Curriculum Tests (NCT) in Literacy and Numeracy. KS1 teachers at Ascot International School adapt the curriculum to ensure it’s relevance to the experiences of the students’ backgrounds, interests and the location of a school in Thailand.

The statutory subject areas for KS1 are Literacy; Numeracy; Science; Information Communication Technology (ICT); Art and Design; Design Technology; History, Geography; Physical Education (including swimming); Personal, Social, Health and Emotional education and Modern Foreign Languages (Mandarin).

Key Stage 2: Throughout Key Stage 2, (Years 3-6) pupils continue to follow a broad and balanced curriculum based on the National Curriculum for England.  All activities are designed to deliver the curriculum whilst fostering an enthusiasm for learning. Lessons are also taught to incorporate objectives and ideas that link to life here in Thailand as well as catering to the international community which we serve.

In addition to the daily Literacy and Numeracy lessons, all children in Key Stage 2 enjoy the other British Curriculum subjects including Science, Art, Geography, History, Design Technology, ICT and PHSE (Personal, Health, Social and Environmental Education). Furthermore, all children follow our MFL programme (Modern Foreign Language: Mandarin, Punjabi, Hindi or Japanese), enjoy PE (Physical Education), Swimming, Thai Culture, Thai Language and Music.  All of these subjects are taught by specialist teachers. All classrooms are equipped with projectors and many classes have interactive whiteboards.

Secondary Years Programme:

Key Stage 3:
Ascot International School offers a broad and balanced curriculum at Key Stage 3 that closely follows the National Curriculum for England. English and Mathematics are taught following the National Curriculum Key Stage 3 Literacy and Numeracy Hours. The Key Stage 3 curriculum builds on the children’s prior learning throughout Key Stage 2 and our curriculum ensures continuity and progression throughout all subject areas. Subjects are taught by teachers who are specialists in the areas of Mathematics, English, Sciences, Humanities, Language and the Arts.

Key Stage 4: At Ascot International School the students in Key Stage 4 (Year 10 and Year 11) follow a broad curriculum that covers subjects from a variety of areas: Languages, Humanities, Social Sciences, Mathematics, Creative, Technical and Vocational. Our programme prepares students for the Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE). This is an international qualification typically taken by 16 year olds that prepares students for further study at A Level, AS Level and International Baccalaureate (IB).
