The Athenian School, San Francisco Bay Area:
The Athenian School is a co-educational independent college preparatory school in the San Francisco Bay Area of Northern California. The school is located on a beautiful 75-acre campus at the base of Mt. Diablo, in Danville, Contra Costa County. We offer a day program for Middle School students (grades 6-8) from the East Bay region and day and boarding programs for Upper School students (grades 9-12) from the US and throughout the world.

Enrollment:
Total enrollment is approximately 450 students, 150 in the 6th-8th grades and 300 day and boarding students in grades 9-12. Class size averages 15 students, and nearly 100% of the school's graduates gain admission to outstanding four-year colleges.

Our Faculty:
Athenian's talented faculty—over 80 percent of whom have advanced degrees—place students as their top priority. The student to faculty ratio is 9 to 1. Nearly half of the school's faculty live on campus, providing each student with continual guidance and support for academic success.

In classes averaging 14 students, studies focus on literature, history, art, science, math and languages. Advanced classes are available in every subject, and concurrent enrollment in university courses for exceptional students can be arranged.

Boarding Program:

Boarding students from throughout the world live in two dormitories, housing approximately 20 students each. More than 20 faculty members live on campus, providing extraordinary guidance and support for all students.

International Students:
The primary goal of the International Program is to help students from around the world to fully participate in and succeed at Athenian, preparing international students for top university options and rich, meaningful lives.

International students achieve fluency in English, gain a strong academic background and develop an understanding of American culture. Athenian's rigorous ESL curriculum is the oldest program of its kind in California.

Sunset Bay Academy is a co-ed therapeutic boarding school located in San Ysidro, 20 miles south of San Diego, California.

We offer a three-phase therapeutic program dedicated to supporting troubled teens ages 12-17 and their parents in acquiring the needed tools to restore hope and create healthy relationships within their families. Our core focus is working with struggling teenage boys and girls to generate long-term sustainable behavioral change.

Our academic program is designed to maximize student learning by encouraging academic excellence and motivating students to consider college as a viable option. We use a computer based academic program featuring 3-D animation, interactive activities and cutting edge multimedia.
