English Immersion Programs for International Students:

Academic Year - English Immersion Program:
- For international elementary school, middle school & high school students
• Program Duration:
The average high school student may attend the English immersion program for a full academic year or more, while an elementary school student or middle school student may choose to complete a shorter program.
The duration of the program depends on many factors, including the age of the student on admission, their current level of English and how hard they work.
• Program Content:
In a well-rounded educational environment, our foreign students will participate in:
- Basic English reading, writing, & conversation classes
- Elective classes
- Social activities
By attending an American school and participating in the same classes as native English-speaking students, international students are fully immersed in the English language and American culture.
English Camps for International Students:
- In Spring, Summer, and Winter
- Course Duration: 4 weeks but this can be extended up to 3 months. Camp participants are not enrolled in our full academic program, and so they do not need to obtain an F-1 (student) visa
The aim of our English immersion camps is that international students will be living, talking, breathing, and dreaming English after just four weeks!
International students are immersed in English through participation in classes, workshops and fun activities with American students.
Daily Classes:
- Intensive English Immersion (2 hours of vocabulary, conversation, and writing instruction)
- Academic instruction (Learning study skills, Reading in English)
- Sports class (Physical Education)

Remarkable Girls is a unique theatre program located on the Peninsula in Millbrae and San Francisco in Northern CA, offering classes, private lessons, and performance opportunities to girls ages 9-18 years. Remarkable Girls was founded by former San Francisco talent agent and performance coach Jan Downing. Programs are taught by performing arts professionals and include instruction in acting, singing, musical theatre, auditioning, and directing.In a supportive and fun-filled environment, girls have room to stretch and grow as young artists and individuals. They tap into their imaginations, develop and polish their talents, and learn the core skills that are the building blocks of a strong theatrical foundation. The Los Angeles Academy of Performing Arts (LAAPA) offers year-round pre-professional training to children and teens in the areas of drama, dance, and music. We are conveniently located on Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood, Los Angeles, CA. We also offer open adult classes, workshops, performance camps, and school outreach programs. Our instructors are some of the leading professionals in the world of performing arts.Our Junior Academy students (ages 7-12 years) are exposed to the same material as the Academy students (ages 13-18 years). Workshops are included as part of the curriculum. No audition is required for admittance into the Junior Academy. We believe that cultivating all areas of the performing arts is important to each student’s development as an artist and person.
Many classes run simultaneously so parents can attend one class while their children attend another. Acting, singing & group guitar classes follow the same twelve-week schedule as Academy classes. Drop-in classes are available for dance, yoga, and pilates only.

Our philosophy is child-centered and is focused on building a child's self esteem through socialization and play. While there is no strict academic program at Laurel Hill, our children thrive in an environment that lets them learn organically. Laurel Hill is the largest co-op nursery school in the Bay Area, with approximately 80 families enrolled.
