Silicon Valley Tech Academy, California:
Tech Academy of Silicon Valley based in San Jose, California organises Summer programs designed to help students in middle and high school to explore and improve the skills needed to pursue college level work in engineering, technology and science. Program emphases are on teamwork, innovative problem solving and project-based 'learning by doing´ with emphasis on Energy, Water, Environment, Space and High Tech. Courses are held at San Jose State University, Santa Clara University, Morgan Hill, CSU at Hayward and Alsion in Fremont. This is a PARTNERSHIP of the Santa Clara County Office of Education, Alameda County Office of Education, San Jose State University, Santa Clara University, California State University-East Bay and the International Science and Engineering Fair. Let Us Motivate Your Children!
We organise Summer Programs for Middle and High School students designed to stimulate interest in Engineering, Technology and Science
TECH Academy of Silicon Valley returns with its quest to improve students’ understanding of engineering and technology and support their continued participation in math and science.
Summer programs designed to help students in middle and high school to explore and improve the skills needed to pursue college level work in engineering, technology and science.
Water, Energy, Environment, Space & High Technology:
This interactive course places emphasis on teamwork, innovative problem solving, and project-based ‘learning by doing’.
Robotics, Signal Analysis and RFID:
There are three modules in this course. Students will learn about robot structures and electronic control, and build a small scale robot to accomplish a task. Students also learn how to recognize sounds, based on frequency analysis using a oscilloscope. RFID introduces students to Radio Frequency Identification Devices leads them to design their own RFID application.
Fuel Cell Technology & Fuel Cell Car:
This course concentrates on the hydrogen fuel cell, with students building, testing, and using the cells to power race a model car. This is a space program technology that has been converted to simple alternative-energy application here on Earth.
Solar Cell Fabrication & Systems:
Students will design and build solar cell systems and learn the required specifications to fit a variey of applications. The course will cover how solar cells convert photon power (light) to electron power.
Students will begin learn about the "carbon footprints" of different and alternative energy sources. They will also design systems for the most efficient use of these energy sources and how to gauge the efficiency of an energy source.
NASA is developing a Mars exploration program, charting a course for the next two decades. Students will learn about the Mars environment, it’s mineral and other potential resources, the processing materials for the manufacturing of life support systems and the requirements for humans to live and work there.
“It is critical, in this new era of globalization, for students to understand the importance of math and science in meeting requirements for entering into the exciting professions of engineering, technology and science related programs.”
