The Montessori Early Learning Center and School of the Arts, is the largest, oldest and most established Montessori school in Columbia, South Carolina offering programs to children from 3 - 6 years. Founded July 15, 1976 MELC offers the full spectrum of the Montessori environment in the purest European tradition. All teachers are European trained and our diplomas are considered by Federal guidelines as the foreign equivalent of a Master's degree.

Located within 3 blocks of I-26 and Greystone Blvd (Zoo exit) , we are easily accessible from all areas of Columbia, North Carolina. With five acres campus, MELC is home to a swimming pool, free standing library, 2,100 square foot arts building and recital hall, spray pool and multiple playgrounds.

In partnership with Engineering for Kids, the museum offers a variety of 1-week day camps that focus on combining engineering and science with fun for all campers.
