The Montverde Academy (MVA) residential program strives to create raving fans. Our House Parents work diligently to create a structured and caring environment for our students. Each House Parent hosts two programs each semester for his/her floor. Fun and successful programs include: Pizza and pool party, movie and popcorn night, talent show, multi-cultural food night, and game night. We also welcome ideas and input from the students as to what they would like to do for an event.
In each dorm, the students are responsible for daily dorm chores, which assist with keeping the dormitory clean and neat. As part of their daily routine, each student is responsible for the cleaning of his/her own room, making their bed, vacuuming the floors, etc. We believe this instills a sense of responsibility in the student, a sense of ownership, and gives the students the ability to take pride in their surroundings.
Opportunities outside the classroom are equally as important in the educational process, and Montverde Academy is pleased to offer a full complement of athletic and fine arts opportunities. In the past several years we have been privileged to have a nationally ranked basketball program, a highly competitive soccer program that has achieved district and regional success, an undefeated golf team, an equestrian program that has received state and national recognition and several athletes to qualify for regional and state competition in cross country, track and field and tennis.
Our fine arts programs provide opportunities for visual and performing arts in a state of the art 450 seat auditorium complete with an art room, photography lab, ceramics studio, dance studio, music room, and performance area. The fine arts experience provides opportunities in performance as well as technical support.
